this looks interesting. This looks like a great in-between when talking about having a motion rig or not. I feel like most motion rigs are way too much and are somewhat unrealistic, but this looks great.
Agreed dude, it feels quite intuitive and would actually make even a motion rig better. Definitely worth considering, I genuinely found it astonishing
$2400 is not a lot for a motion rig. Although you really need haptic and motion

Have you tried this in Gran Turismo 7? I know it'll be audio only, but was curious if you thought that it would be good even if I mainly play sim racers on console vs PC. Since it's all audio based, I assume that things like in-game soundtracks that play by default during races would cause unintended feedback, or it would pick up feedback from other nearby cars. Not sure if its a dealbreaker, but was curious if you thought that audio based only haptics would be worth it, especially since I'm in the process of upgrading my rig for PSVR2 support. Would love to be able to get more granular details like the telemetry that can be extracted by PC sims, pretty unfortunate limitation of consoles.

You can run GT7's telemetry through Sim Hub on the PC and it should work like it's running a PC game. My irl gauges etc work with GT7 now.

If they add more options, I’ll probably get one. I would love to have more awareness when another car is coming up on your left or right, as well as wheel spin for dirt.
Wait, in real racing you can feel someone’s car coming up next to you in your seat?
@@daftplays5199 that’s what I’m hoping, or at least get some vibration from the sound of their motor. With the mirror delete option iRacing has implemented for dirt cars, better find as much awareness as you can, because dirt cars don’t have mirrors.

What is the current state of the software? Has Next Level updated more titles suspension and road traction, or is that still only on iRacing?

Are you using it for console? If so, what is the feedback level and customisation?
@@tristanparker using it on ps5 through SimHub so roughly same customisation but it depends on the telemetry support. For example, no ABS telemetry for GT7 unfortunately

@@tristanparker simhub is free, though I did donate to be fair. The HF8 is great, in my opinion, the best investment I’ve made as it gives very good signals into what’s happening with the car. Takes time to configure it correctly but once you have it, it will be hard to go back

HI thanks for the review. Does it represent the feeling of wheels locking as is the case for, say, iRacing when immediately breaking beyond that 80% mark? Not sure you covered this in the 'ground effect/ suspension' section of the review? Also, did NLR state when the expect this to be released in the UK? They have a £sterling cost on their website, but when accessing the link to any of the UK suppliers (e.g Maplin / Currys etc), none of them have it listed yet? Thanks.

You can set if for braking too and it does transmit vibration when locking up, which you can tweak to work in your favour. I had it set up in a similar way myself.

I'd say yes, because you don't get haptic feedback as far as I know with the dof reality motion systems :)

It probably will!! Its really not that big and as I showed, it fits literally anywhere (including the toilet seat if you so wish) 🤣

This product looks amazing and I'd love to buy one when I can. I'd want to swap out my seat for some kind of bucket seat to account for the extra padding and just for the product to look more aesthetic.
Besides I'm already a little bit too tall for my rig so uhhh haha.

Here's a question for you. I've got a Thrustmaster T248. I can sell it and get a T300 for the same price as the HF8. Which would you do? T300 and no haptics, or T248 with haptics?
T300 will feel better/smoother but the torque difference isnt that much more. If I were you i’d go for haptics or pedals. If you were going for something like TSXW or entry level DD as a choice instead, i’d go for those, but in this case, i’d say haptics will increase your immersion more than those wheels will :)

Audio only feedback means?
Just means the haptic feedback is based on the audio from the game, and therefore is going to be less accurate.

The provided software is trash. Simhub makes way better use of it.
HFS was launched in Beta with no intention of being a refined product immediately. Regrettably, this is the reason why we stress the compatibility of HF8 with other third-party software like SimHub or SimShaker.
if you have a PC ok, but if you don't have a PC stay away from this bullshit 😂
