A few quick notes:
The orange plug on the cable loom is actually a bypass plug. It allows you to keep the loom in the car while XLifter EAS unit is disconnected - this is important and helpful for troubleshooting.
The heights from xlifter and original car controls are in addition to each other, so best practice is to use XLifter from the normal ride height setting of the car.
Land Rover didn't design for you to raise and lower your car multiple times in quick succession, so please keep your compressor temperature in mind.

Love this channel, even though, like most Americans who do not have access to the immense torque from the diesels.... you forever engage my attention with your precise and clean videos. I have enjoyed learning about the differing modes on my 2006 V8 4.4 HSE with all the trimmings from your prior videos and really looking forward to buying this lift system soon... love driving my Landie, up at 14000 feet in the overland roads of Colorado and navigating the Cascade and Olympic Mountain Ranges near to my home in Western Washington State. Thanks Jay. Merry Xmas to you and yours... Taff Griffin , Welsh American (Rhondda Valley Born) , Land Rover lubber.
thanks, new video coming this weekend
Great video, I take it you can drive the disco on the lower height setting without lifting to normal ride height as you speed up . Thanks mark
yes, i find it helps with stability if you drop it by 25mm (sort of counters the extra height from tyres).
Nice opening cinematic
Matt Adby is such a good RUclipsr I love him
Thanks Rob
Just bought mine with the 20 %. Cheers for that
That’s great, thanks for letting us know
Wooooooow. Do you have a discount code? I love it, but for me right now is very expensive. It.will be hepfull if someone have a discount. Thank you!!!! KR
Some brilliant functionality.
I will try and show so more, when we are allowed out again after lockdown.
Thanks Jay-tee 👏
Great video, my only concern is how much extra stress is put on the drive train when in its highest mode? It'll be good to see how it performs when used in anger
For on road driving, I wouldn’t recommend using anything more than a 1 inch lift setting, which I don’t believe should have any detrimental effect on drive train.
How is this different than having Johnson Rods & using the factory lifting/dropping controls?
it is a very nice kit. I have also from the begin of this year. and i am happy with it. am curious how you will like it.
I am looking forward to trying it off road, also the leveling function for camping will be handy.
Videos are super useful as just starting with a Disco 3! I have garage clearance issues with the roof tent. Can you drive in the lowest setting so I could lower the car to get in the garage? Does it completely disable the factory air control? Thanks
Hi Bryn thanks for the positive feedback :) You can drive at any of the height settings (as long as you have wheel clearance), I am not sure if it goes lower that the car access height setting. It doesn't disable the factory controls, XLifter is in addition i.e. you should use it with the car control set at normal ride height.
Interesting vid, although I wouldn't want to tinker with the suspension dynamics for the sake of aesthetics. I wouldn't meddle with LR electrics either - they're touchy at the best of times! I'd be interested in a long-tern review, though.
so far the Land Rover electronics seem to be playing happily with XLifter. Still hope to get out to review off road soon, and yes I will keep in mind a long-term review.
It will be nice to do a IID tool. I am new to LR3 and would like to know about diagnostic capabilities. Or any good scan tool for LR3
I hope to be able to sometime in the future
Can you be in a off road setting with the xlifter , then Turn car off , will it still be in that off road setting or do you have to choose your setting every time the car is turned on? Thanks great video liked and subscribed 👍
Hi, yes when you turn the car back on XLifter retains the last setting you had. It is also interesting to understand XLifter works in addition to the car height settings, I have been using just with the car set at normal ride height, but if you set the car in the off road mode you can push it even higher with the XLifter control.
Thanks for the subscription.
@@JayTeeCars thanks a lot , only just seen this reply , cheers
Nice
Hi Jay I couldn’t get your discount code to work, can you ask the guys at X-Lifter to re apply please many thanks Paul 😊
New sub here. Just thought id mention that your youtube channel banner has a spelling mistake.
Thanks, I never noticed that.
I'll fix it as soon as possible.
How is it on wheel/tyre clearance with those 265/70 R17 tyres on the low setting, have you tried the D3 at speed on a lower setting to see if improves road handling
I will have to give it a try, I have only ever tried it at slow speeds in the normal access mode (that doesn’t rub)
Update on this and remap please.
When you change all terrain setting do you keep the standard hight setting on factory suspension control or do you have to put it in off road mode
When selecting one of the terrain modes the vehicle lifts as it does as standard. That change will be plus whatever setting you have applied on XLifter, for example if you had +15mm your ride height would be that plus the 55mm you get from terrain response.
Remap is going well, biggesr plus I am finding is improved economy, its made about 4 to 5 mpg difference.
@@JayTeeCars thank you for the reply, i pick up my new disco3 tomorrow cant wait!! I like the idea of the self leveling feature as i have a roof tent
Does the xlifter let you go into super extended mode ?
I assume has additional benefits for flooded sections of road too?
yep
Hi fitted the xlifter, I got a better view and access by removing the upper vent panel (the large one with the driver blower vent) very easy to remove just tug it forward. One the right you can see the position of the module and the plugs. Hope this helps
Nice work!
So if I put some bigger wheels on, I wouldn't need to use a lift rod kit with the xlifter? also is it self leveling? Thanks.
Correct and yes it is self leveling.
If your car is post 2006, you will need to trim off chassis horns to give front wheel clearance.
hello, with the XLifter at super low, do the wheels rub when you have the 30mm spacers on the car ?
yes
I WANT TO BUY ONE BY LR3 OWNER FROM KOREA.
Did you guys consider an IID tool as well? That's what I got for my D4, it allows you to program in a lift as well as some pretty good diagnostic functions.
IID is also on my shopping list
Hi, I bought this one : www.icarsoft.com/Product/s-362-iCarsoft_CR_V2.html
And activated it for all Land Rovers and for my Opel Ampera. Now I have opportunity for 8 others makes to be loaded. In my opinion it works fine.
Does the iCarSoft support suspension settings?
@@JayTeeCars There are full diagnostics of all systems - of the suspension too. I have to check - are there suspension settings in the services part.
@@JayTeeCars I have ICarSoft & can tell you that it does not alter the suspension settings. It is a very handy diagnostics tool but not that handy.
Good afternoon! Tell me what size your tires and rims have?
265/70R17
@@JayTeeCars thank you!
Do you leave the XLifter permanently on?
It’s always powered on when starting the vehicle, I often adjust the height either going lower by 15mm for twisty roads or up to make it looks cool.
Is this product usable on l320 rrs as it shares the platform with the d3??
yes, I believe it is, please check website link in video description.
Hi Good video but I tried your discount code but it did not work it said it has expired. Do you have a up to date code please as the discount would help in my decision to buy . Any help you can give would be appreciated meany thanks, regards Chris
Hi Chris, I will message Jan at XLifter to see what he can do.
@@JayTeeCars thank you any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Chris
just had a reply from Jan, he is checking and will be in contact here
@@chrisharvey6845 Hi, I've updated the coupon, it's now valid till end of 2021 :)
@@janstanek1976 thank you for all your help, regards Chris
you can write me the model and size of the tires thanks
Cooper Discoverer STT Pro 265/70 R17
i feel like this is pointless unless you want to trailer something...what is the real benefit of this otherwise?
also what size are your wheels and tires...
Tire size is 265/70R17
A few thoughts on usefulness:
1. Yes very handy for attaching trailer
2. Gives you control of ride height, you can choose to go in to the super extended before approaching an obstacle
3. Raised ride height can be maintained above 30mph (not a big deal in the UK as you don't the chance very often for open long off road areas, but something to keep in mind).
4. Self leveling - very handy for camping, especially if you sleep in the vehicle or connect a tent.
5. If you get an ABS failure while off road, the vehicle will drop to lowest ride height, which means you could be stranded. XLifter has an emergency function to raise and allow you to get back to civilisation.
6. It monitors and displays compressor temperature
x리프트 굿~~^^
Where can I buy it?
