I was just diagnosed with this after a year long battle with watery diarrhea. Finally my health provider discovered thru a stool sample that I have EPI. I started on Creon and it seemed to help but then I had hernia surgery and now I’m bloated, diarrhea and abdominal cramping. I am hoping that after my surgery heals I may be ok again. Sooo much gas causes lots of pain. I’m also anemic and losing weight.

I thought I might have typed this, it’s sounds like me. But my GI doctor only wanted to push Colonoscopy and CT scan with dye, but offered nothing for enzymes. I think I need to find a Functional Medicine Dic, but I know insurance won’t cover that

I had been diagnosed with pancreatic insufficiency last September 2022. The Dr wanted to put me on Creon. I would not take it because it has pig enzymes in it. One of the side effects of Creon is a swine parasitic infection. I decided to change my diet to eliminate the sugar, reduce carbs (I researched the Keto diet) and it not only helped me get regular blood sugars, I got off the diabetes pill and had no more problems with my pancreas. It did take about 2 weeks before I saw full results.

  • @DarkAngel-cj6sx

    Very explained.
My son is 5 years old and he regressed into autism at 3 years old because he contracted clostridia as an infant in hospital and it completely ravaged all his body.
On top of that I added vaccines when his body didn't have enough glutathione and he became completely a different boy.
Now his gut is free of bacteria and clostridia but his comprehensive stool test lab test shows a very low biomarker of elastase ( pancreatic enzyme insuffiancy).
    Low butyrate, high HP.
I just started treating him with a comprehensive enzymes supplement.
Don't make mistakes like I did. I treated him for 4 months then I stopped for the first stool test and I didn't retest and the second stool markets are lower than the first one.
He has inflammation too but I am glad I just restated the treatment.
Pray for my little boy to come back and talk to me like before

Thanks for your coverage. pancreatic enzymes do help. Mine was caused by immunotherapy and my oncologist only gave me prednisone. My gastroenterologist and endocrinologist did not offer these so I took otc. Working out dose and schedule required care and attention. Took notes with impressions on how things are working. Prayer helps too but pancreatic insufficiency if not addressed can cause further pancreas damage and type 1 diabetes could ensue. God gives us agency. Please use the gifts he has given you and pray for discernment.

I just wanted to share my symptoms in case they might help someone.
I had diarrhea for a long time and didn't think much of it, but it turned out to be steatorrhea. Over time, it started affecting my eyes due to Vitamin A malabsorption, leading to difficulty seeing at night. Eventually, I experienced bone pain and other signs of nutritional deficiencies. I was diagnosed with pancreatic enzyme deficiency. After numerous tests and scans, I am now in the process of starting pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy.
    If you can't digest fats, you can't absorb fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K.
