The Nameless is awesome, i also like the Kerry King amp, and the Solidus is also great! And i like blending a solid state amp into a tube amp like you said, i did that trick with real amps a few times in rehearsals and on stage ( if the stage was big enough :-P ) I have 2 Randall`s (RG1503 and a RD100) And using those two together works like a champ! And i think a lot of people are underestimate the power of solid state amps! And maybe is a shoot out between 3 different tunings into 2 different amps a cool idea for a video. Great video as always, cheers! ;-)
I like Spark and The Kk sig here. Nameless / basically any Fortin is a Hulk Steroids modded Marshall but .... doesn't give me Marshall vibes. Does sound good though. Happy I have the Cali Suite. Check out Kuassa's Amplifikation Creme and Caliburn for more Marshall tones. Nobody even knows about Kuassa, and they should. Cheap, good if simplistic tones, no Ilock or other pain to authorize, and not a CPU hog. Spark is a Marshall powerhouse, though. No denying that. Cheers Scott \M/
I used to think the softube kk was great until i tried the 2203 - plexi and jubilee with a dist pedal. The KK is no way softubes besr, slap a 2203 in there woth dome pedal and listen
Nice shootout Scott. A few that I haven’t heard before. I will have to try them out. I’m currently using the Blue Cat free amp in Classic Crunch mode for “Marshall” tones with Two Notes IR Cabs.
The Nameless sounds beautiful and "modern" there. It's like a Marshall with tons of steroids, but it gets to a point where I tend not think of it really much when I want a Marshall tone. Just as you said, I think the Spark is more like a "true Marshall". It's great amp and you pulled some cool sounds out of it! The Kerry King's one sounded great too.
I’m super late to the party with Nameless but so far I’m loving it, does the Dino Fear Factory thing pretty amazingly I find, any other Marshall tones I need historically I just reach for the amplitube 800 model
Other cool Marshall sims = Studio Devil (there is even a free one, but use it together with the Studio Devil Virtual Tube) , Amplitube and Overloud TH-U both have great Marshall ... STL Tones, Audio Assault and definitively Aurora DSP (!!!) ... check em out, I think you'll be pleasently surprised by all of these....
The Spark is an awesome plugin, definitely have the closest sound of a Marshall. Mercuriall amp sims plugins are very good, too bad they stopped to concentrate on other stuff.
Hopefully though, this means Merc will do massive blowout sales. I mean if they're not gonna dev ampsims anymore they may as well discount things gradually over time. JMO. Spark is awesome. So is Euphoria, though I only messed about quickly with it. Need to drop the cash on it someday, assuming something cheaper and continually supported doesn't come along.
If we're talking about the emails telling they are going to switch to producing DJ equipment.. that was an April's Fools joke :D And quite a convincing one actually!
I'm glad I got the Nameless when I got the chance. I have question - how to get sort of hazy or cloudy mix like on Akhlys' "The Dreaming I"? The way it's mixed gives such atmospheric vibe, it's not of this world.
I keep missing the sales on the Mercuriall Spark. It's weird Mercuriall haven't released anything new lately. The Kerry King sim sounds noticeably cleaner to my ears, more definition. Maybe it's the IR. The Nembrini and the Audiority have more of a classic sound to them to me.
@@sauerkrautoneverything7807 ... cool man! I'm a big fan of their products too. I read that on their Facebook page. They mentioned that on a few posts there.
@@rodrigosallesguitar Thanks for the info. Just bought it now. Have to remember the receipt is in Russian Rubles, and it's not actually $5531.85 USD and freak out like last time. hehe.
The Neural DSP has a bit more "details" maybe but doesn't mean that's just for this is the better or realistic or whatever, for technical and downtuned stuff it's the one specially with the Noise Gate built in helps alot for this type of stuff or fast palm mutted (maybe)... The Softube has something "irregular" that sounds right; The Mercuriall sounded nice; The Nembrini sounded nice and realistic also but a bit more suited hearing this more for heavy metal or hard rock, alternative stuff than Death Metal or something, it's too "tamed" for me at the first sight The Audiority one sounded terrible good so I'm torn between the Spark and Solidus VS8100 or ... Or the Nameless to blend in parallel with something or maybe even trying to insert in the DAW my Proco Rat clone pedal to blend or boost it.
Only ever used linear phase EQ with drums , technically yes, every EQ move pushes things out of phase here and there... but these are hi-gain guitars.. maybe in a more 'clean' genre it could be worth doing that, though
I struggle to focus on the guitar sound, because the drums are terrible, they just sound like a drum machine. Sad... Hopefully I will get some time to check out this sims myself
Nembrini and Mercurial have the best sound in the mix

Awesome video Scott! I liked Nameless and Marshall , sound great!
My personal favorite is the Fortin Cali. Great comparison video
I really liked the King

Have you tried the ML 800 from ML sound labs? That one and the audiority vs 8100 are my go to Marshall amp sims
Not yet, haven't gotten around to that... so many on the market these days haha
