    The moon is still geologically active so why not an asteroid that gets close to Jupiter regularly.

    Life came to this planet from worlds of long ago and is continuing to spread its seed throughout the universe. how long ago did it start? And how far has it gone? We will never know but one thing that's certain is that life is out there doing its thing ever evolving and concuring the Galaxies far and wide!!!!

    What you're not mentioning is the fact that those 'salts' continue to reflect light even when it's facing away from the Sun. So, those are not salts, but lights on the surface.
