  • Singing is like a sport in that to do it well your body must be conditioned and ready to play. And like any other complex muscle coordination, you need to first warm-up before engaging your voice. In today’s video, we’re going to talk about how to warm-up your voice and free it when you sing. If you long for that life-changing exhilaration that happens when you release your emotions in the form of vocal expression, then you’ll first want to condition your body. To free your voice, you need to warm-up.

You have no idea how much your teaching sessions have blessed me. My voice was in a "dry bones" mode. I hadn't sang for 30+ years. God used you to build my confidence, so He could breath life into my "dry bones" voice. God bless you MH

WOW!!!!! thank you so much Ive only done the first exercise and wow. ive been singing my entire life (im 26) and classically trained. been out of regular singing and lessons for 4 years. Trying to get a consistent vocal warmup and Ive never done this specific breath exercise and it feel so incredible the resonance and tone and freedom with only one time. I appreciat you so much. Been trying for months to develop a consistent routine that suits my change in vocal style and types of music im writing now. thank you thank you going to keep moving forward with your guidance :)

I notice I use my throat to perfect my pitch with each change. I can't figure out how to do this with my diaphragm.

Does anyone else experience their tongue and lips shaking while doing these exercises? How do I control that?

I’ve never had lessons before. I’m 65 and was raised in a singing family, we all sang parts, sounded wonderful. Now I’m really struggling to sing. Just warming up every day should help?

I'm no teacher but just anecdotally warming up has helped me improve a bunch, especially this exercise
