Thanks a lot! My FPS dropped quite significantly after following this guide, but on the other hand it got so insanely smooth. I can finally enjoy the game. Also seems like my excuses of having low FPS aren't valid anymore, so I'm just bad.
Telling people to change their global setting in nvcp is a stupid idea, just change on a per program basis.
I dont find shadow_texture, barnlight_shadowmap or shadow_casting in the video.txt document :(
Yeah, it seem to have been removed I think. lb_barnlight_shadowmap_scale "value" still exist in-game from console though, so idk.

why does Anistropic 16X have better FPS compared to Bilinear? I've tested it and noticed for me Anistropic does result in a higher and more stable FPS than Bilinear, does it have to do with CPU?
I think it has to do with the game engine. It's strange that pro players don't know that. (16х )
seems like my "cs2_video" is a basic text document with half of those settings shown in the video. all these settings are in the "BAK file" below the one shown in the video wich is also named "cs2_video" for me for some reason.

3:19 Also click Run As Administrator! I had an issue where my game kept minimizing and sending me back to my desktop at random. I had no idea how to fix it but after searching for hours and try a dozen different fixes I finally found a suggestion to try Running As Administrator and it fixed the issue! Also, did you know you can force the game to whatever resolution you want? I play in a perspective that isn't selectable in the in-game menu. I play in 1920x1080. To do this I type -w 1920 -h 1080 in Launch Options.
Or just make any custom resolution in your GPU software and it will appear in the game.
Hab the same Issue, i put off all automatic startin programs when i start windows and it stopped minimizing.

Game mode just mutes notifications and pop ups so it doesnt accidentaly tab you out of the game so basically useless
Dont recommend -vulkan. Or atleast test it with FPS-Benchmark Map. My Average got down by 40 fps and P1 got down by like 10 fps with -vulkan on.

so my problem with cs2 has been without having wait for vertical sync on, the game just gets really choppy even with 250+ fps, ive tried capping the framerate to 144,165,180, 200 and etc. but the problem persists and i always end up turning vsync back on. i have a 3800x and 4070s 32gb ram.
When did you install windows? How much stuff is on your PC? And did you follow every step?
@@wyldcs i haven’t reinstalled windows in 2-3 years, and i have a decent amount of stuff on my pc, but I tried using riva tuner and that seems to have somewhat fixed the problem, but my latency is still in the 7-10 range
My only fix for this was going back to windows 10, I’d get 400 fps on 11 but it still felt choppy, windows 10 gives me 600 on most maps
@Wyld I must say that for the first time i see someone actually posting something that actually works, i am referring specifically to the changes to the CS video settings file, that is huge! i could not run Shadows on High in game as it would cause severe FPS drops when smokes were active, also i could not run Textures on High for the same reason, with this i could tweak the textures in order for my skins to look gorgeous whilst not losing performace, great job!

What exactly are you tweaking at 6:41 and how does it affect FPS? Shadow quality or cast range/size?
Also, I've seen multiple players with the same "show fps" interface as yours in the top right corner of the game. What command is that?
This changes the shadows casted by player models and enables them while keeping all other shadows low. It also makes the player model shadows cast in a high res and, become visible at distance. The show fps interface can be enabled at the bottom of game settings under telemetry. Hope this helps!

your monitor probably has ghosting play around with your monitor settings and fix it

Such a bs comment! These ARE the best settings that boost ANYONE’S fps on CS2 + lower input delay. Even on lower spec PC you’ll see great improvements. Of course having better hardware give better performance (OBVIOUSLY NOT 700+ on weaker system) but by doing this and windows optimization I DO get that and so can anyone on a similar system. Either way no matter what you play on this video will help you get the best performance out of your machine and is straight to the point with NO BS or stalling in it! No need for this braindead comment…

Is that with these settings applied? Keep in mind this was in an offline game so if you are testing in deathmatch / online your frames will be slightly lower. I'm also recording with a dedicated recording/streaming pc so when playing games, they are the only thing running on my gaming. As well as this I've thoroughly optimized my windows on my gaming pc specifically for gaming - I could make a video on this?? My gaming build was built recently on stream and has a 7800x3d with a 4090 which helps a lot with the high fps. But with these settings + windows optimization/debloat, you can get a lot more frames out of CS2.

Global Shadow Quality shouldnt be turned down, it gives advantages with general shadows etc
Did you listen to what I said? Global shadows on max give the advantage in being able to see enemy players bodies before they come round corners etc. That’s why I show a way to set that up with shadows on Low. This means for trees and other static objects, their shadows are rendered at low but enemy players will be rendered just as they are in high settings. Saves a ton of performance but still gives you the advantage.

I have the cs2_video file, but there isnt any of text you change. There are many things missing from my file that i see in yours btw. I just reinstalled windows. Any tips? Great video!

Video ranges from around -15db to -20db which is within the standard RUclips audio levels. Audio should be fine.

I have your same set up and i get 400 to 500 on average in premier comp, i have everything on high max settings, how many do you get?
When I stream I turn my settings up and get around 400 fps on competitive nuke. I have done a lot of Windows optimizations so will probs make a vid on that soon!

This man Disabling Low Latency in driver settings and then proceeds to Enable it in game settings... do not trust him.
As I said, your games override this setting. There is no need for this outside of games.

What do you mean? Mine is disabled and I recommend everyone disable unless you have a use case for it
@@wyldcs it helps menaging the cores so game will use all 3d cache cores for more fps, amd couldnt find any other way to do that i guess, try testing fps with on and off
@@shockat5070 I think you’re confusing this with game mode. As I said in the video, game mode should definitely be on. Game bar is built into windows so you can capture videos/screenshots. This is not needed if you want the best performance.

No worries! Not sure but think I might make a Windows optimization guide as I've done a lot to my PC to increase it's performance in games which would add to peoples FPS in CS2 etc.
you should easily get 240+ fps, should get 500+ with that setup
IO have 14600k and 6750xt which is almost equivalent and I get 300+ max settings till 1440p while I play on 1920 1440 4:3 mix settings getting around 400
Is the nvidea app you have geforce experience? Mine looks different. Either way it says my drivers are up to date
Nvidia recently launched an app called “Nvidia app” currently in beta which is replacing GeForce Experience. It doesn’t matter which one you use as long as drivers are up to date but I recommend swapping as you will have to eventually.

Which windows better for Cs2 10 or 11?
I haven't been able to test but Windows 11 has come a long way and I recommend it. Maybe look for some benchmarks of the same system with win10/11 in 2024.

So I dont have consistent lag, all things considered I have a great computer, but specifically on cs2 the game will freeze, the text on the top right will pop up and say "max ms 2500+." When this is happening a lot, it will do it every other death as well.
This sounds like a problem with your internet / router. Do you play with a wired connection?
@@wyldcs Unfortunately must be an internet issue, I am wireless, but the games this is happening in, my ping stays around 20-40; Only the metric on the top right registers the max ms.
I just played a match where it did the same thing, the down arrow was at 70-79%, but it hasnt told me that until now.
@@plaguedoctorjeff857 Ah that sucks. Best thing you could do is try to play wired or purchase a booster that could be plugged into a wall power outlet. Then you can plug this into your PC and you should get better performance.

What are you running for a GPU?
7800x3d and 4090 so that’s how I’m getting 800ish. These settings along with windows optimizations will get you really good frames no matter your hardware.

@@volvo89577 Vulkan is a modern, cross-platform video API designed to supersede OpenGL. It's far more performant than DirectX, which makes it preferred over DXVK on Linux. Anyone can use Vulkan for Counter-Strike 2 but AMD users see the best performance gain.
