War of the Worlds Survival Game Review & Gameplay

- The War Of The Worlds Survival is a game based on H.G. Wells The War Of The Worlds novel made by Stefano Cagnani who also did the War Of The Worlds 1913 game I did a video about years ago, which was quite good for a short experience adaption of the original book version! Now I finally got around to posting my War of the Worlds Survival gameplay with the unique Alvim Correa Tripods adapted for this game which seem to be a mixture of the Corrêa Tripod design and The War Of The Worlds 1953 movie version Fighting Machines, so it's quite an interesting look. Finally, since 2021, I've gotten around to a review of this War of the Worlds Survival Game made with Unreal Engine 4.

But I also noticed how it was inspired by many different adaptions of HG Wells The War Of The Worlds, including The War Of The Worlds 1953 film, The Great Martian War 1913-1917, Jeff Wayne's Musical Version Of The War Of The Worlds and even Steven Spielberg's 2005 War Of The Worlds starring Tom Cruise. I found this War Of The Worlds game, created by Stefano Cagnani, to be a nice adaption and it certainly makes a nice change from FOX's War Of The Worlds and the BBC's War Of The Worlds that we've gotten lately. The War Of The Worlds 1913 game is a worthwhile, fun and nicely stylised adaption of H G Wells The War Of The Worlds.

The War Of The Worlds Survival is a fascinating game with a really interesting Tripod design. I also forgot to mention that just the fact that Stefano Cagnani set the game in the faithful Victorian era of the book is really nice too. :)
While, I like the tripods in this, I think they are far too small. Aren’t they supposed to be taller than the trees and houses?

Are there any modern illustrations of the tripod design that you particularly like.
That's a good question! I'm not sure really. Although I'm sure I must've seen some, I'm not too familiar with any modern illustrations, so I'd have to look into it. Do you have any you'd suggest?
Too bad that the game was taken down, I rather see it still out there so people can play it a bit. It doesnt look perfect, but I like the idea.
Yeah I think it's a great shame when things like this become available. You can tell great effort went into it.
It would have needed to be in competition with other war of the worlds games in the similar gameplay style, like for example the war of the worlds game that FlipSwitch Games is doing which has the 2006 Tripods and given that they just shown gameplay of playing as the Tripods around the time this video came out, what chances would this game have at retaining a playerbase versus its competitors like the one from FlipSwitch, sure you can run and hide from the Tripods like everyone else but what if you wanted to BE the Invaders.

This was a really really good review of the game but you did miss one part of the game that kinda made me a bit upset, you forgot about the actual martians when they were out of the machines they had that weird 1953 Eye on them while keeping the og martian design, if you want you can talk about the content creators of war of the worlds like me, axjag flims, starry and many other war of the worlds content creators

Thank you very much! Ah, that's ashame I missed the actual martians! I'll have to see if I can find some gameplay of them on RUclips. And thank you for letting me know I can talk about war of the worlds content creators, I might do that in the future! I have a lot of videos planned, but eventually I might get around to something like that. :) I'll keep it in mind.
I've been following a new fan made war of the worlds survival game for PC but it's still very early in development but what I've seen looks amazing and the best part is the developer is using the 05 designs for everything

A least im glad some Dudes did Anímate the classic Correa Trípods and the ambient of the Classic Novel of The War of the Worlds!! A least Is a try and im sure after Two Betas Some one else Will give us a worthy game to Play! Or a least a Animated Short of it and More!!

Yeah, it's really great that there are people that want to bring even the classic look and artwork to life! I very recently discovered those short animations too! I was absolutely astonished at how well done they are, and how they faithfully recreate Correa's illustrations. It's a really great achievement by them! I was even thinking of making a review of these videos if possible but I'm not sure if I'd have much to add so there probably wouldn't be much point. And thank you again, I appreciate your kind comments! :)
