Ebuyer just dropped the price of the Powercolor 7900 xtx to £850. That is now a hugely competitive option at only £50-£70 more than the 7900 xt, depending on versions. Considering it stacks up with the 4080 Super and is at least £150 less, it should shake things up a bit.

Built a new PC during BF and got the PowerColor 7800 XT 16GB Fighter for 450$ or 5999 swedish crowns with tax included. Was during a live event when they sold out 50 for that price and the performance is amazing. Never played on 1440p before but so far i maxed out every game with good fps. @@JustGaming24it’s a great card for 1440p I have a 170hz 2K monitor and I’m games like MW3 I run max settings and get 250FPS at 2K and 150FPS at 4K for max settings. Cyberpunk I can get 90fps if I turn RT off at 2K and 130fps with everything max and frame generation on. 4K RT off you can get 70-80fps. Older titles like RE2 remake runs around 200fps maxed out settings 2K with RT on. You kind of want your card to be “overkill” that way when new games come out it’s not gonna feel dated and still run them well. I would say if you want to game in 4K get the 4080 S if you want to play just 1440p the 4070ti S is enough.

Teams red and green just don't get it, sales are down because nobody wants to pay 400+ for a card. Volume = profit. So, until they figure this out, it's just nonsense.

Usually not much. 2 fan variants are usually clocked lower causing lower Temps, but also less performance HOWEVER you probably won't notice the difference in a manual OC compared to a card that you buy now adays due to software automatically optimizing the card for the demand as you play. There will be differences in benchmarks, but it'll probably be imperceptible during gameplay.

7800xts are perfectly fine cooled by dual fans. They don't produce nearly as much heat as they used to before a driver update and especially not as much as the other two cards above it. I have an Asrock Challenger, and I don't ever get above the high 70s, even in load with a good airflow case.

It all depends if you like CPU or GPU intensive games. If it is a game like civilisations, I would rather invest more in CPU rather than GPU.
If you wanna go for 1440 in all games, then 6700xt/6750xt/6800 will be a good choice.
If you can go with 1080p then you can buy new 7600xt 16GB which is not anything amazing. But with 16GB VRAM will do great work at 1080p for years to come. Currently it is also considered as one of the best 1080p cards.

To effectively ignore the cards rather than giving a balanced look was disappointing. We keep saying that we want a 3rd player in the graphics market but it's like we don't really. These cards are now a viable alternative and at the price range Nvidia has nothing that actually competitive. I mean they've just released the A380 competitor in the 6gb 3050 and how much was this card again? AMD does have competitive cards although with less features and appalling ray tracing for those that are interested in this. It’s definitely a solid gpu, you may consider looking at the used market. 3080 is still a stellar gpu and sells for around $400-$450 depending on what you find. You may even be able to find less than that, but this is what I would do personally

it's gonna be really tough to fit this card in a 1000$ budget but it's possible, I'm talking about the rx 7800 xt, so get that if you can fit it in the budget, and if you can't you can go down to the used market and pick up a 6700 xt I've seen them go for about 300$ there

  • @erikcortes5015

The 7900 XTX is ~3% faster than 4080 Super all while costing ~$70 less. So for people who don't care about RT or upscaling I'd say the 7900 XTX is the clear choice.

But rt and upscaling demolish it and you have way better features on Nvidia too with it

At least in my area 7900xt goes for 900~950$ and 4080s comes at more than 1400$

sapphire nitro+ but i wouldn't really recommend it because they typically are about $30-$50+ over msrp when other manufacturers make their 7800 xt models closer to $500 with good cooling still. U can save that money for a game or two.
