Excellent setup Steve. Can't wait to head back up to the Murray myself. As an aside, the pulsing light on the battery monitor used to drive us nuts at night until I searched how to turn it (the backlight) off. If you were not aware, press and hold left and right buttons & voila. To turn the light back on, repeat the process. Cheers, Dave.

Great vid as always. We have hired older versions of that van on camplify before and talked about that same battery setup idea. Well done for doing it. We will be up there for our annual boys trip in March, not far from where you stopped, hope the river goes down a little bit before so that our beach and sandbar will be accessible. Keep up the great content

Yeah we hired some before we purchased so we knew what we wanted.
There’s still more to the battery setup to come ( as said in the vid ) but it’s already good having plenty of power in hand.

We almost ordered the same van back in December, but we ended up ordering a Hybrid van instead as it suited our needs. Looking forward to seeing you 12v lithium set up, as I will be changing ours over from AGM to lithium as well. I want to be able to run the air con through inverter.

    Hi Steve,
first congrates on the new van.
Looking very much forward to see your modifications to the van system.
I see Jayco has scaled down on the fit out overall the models. My Adventurer came fully decked out with all options available during that time in 2019.
But w/o the lithium batteries. Which is ok since in 2022 there are far better things on the market now as you have shown.
3x200A batteries nice size.. well with all the holes in the cab I would be interested in your over pressure system you are going to install later.
Safe trips and keep the sunny side up
    Cheers

@@Australian4x4Adventures yep, been looking too.. since 2 years…
Mine spec system is overkill and to expensive,
Dometic has no fan and is to large outside unit and replacement filter ridiculous expensive.
2000.- + AUD unit with big fan draw to much power and overkill for my 13 foot van.
Could not find a suitable mid size system for reasonable price..
I guess there is a market for it, but nobody go for it to design since the quantity will be not that big.
Your van looks like a Swiss cheese 🧀… so many holes…. No doors over the fridge vent..
Down below to seal is easy.. Sikaflex and plug it all…
Pop tops pump allot I guess and the Jayco little pressure flap in the rooftop 🤪 has NO filter and functions only in high speeds clean air or so?!
Let’s see if something decent and functional comes on the market!
Otherwise keep it simple and clean the van inside after every trip through dust! 🤪 wife not happy for sure. 😆

I’ve currently got a Jayco Journey Outback Poptop on order (similar mouthful to yours!) and have been flat out researching. We’ve opted the compressor fridge and have some iTechworld 120X’s to fit once van is here. Interested to hear how your 12V system goes, sounds like it should be overkill!! Did you consider the Projecta shunt (PMSHUNT) to keep all the add ons monitored through the Projecta screen?

    • @Australian4x4Adventures
      @Australian4x4Adventures  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching mate.
I think if you are going full Electic ( fridge- induction cooking - air fryer - Aircon ) then 400 amps is sort of the starting point 600 would be more ideal for running all of that.
But with any system it’s only as good as the solar you put on the roof. You’ve gotta be able to put the power back or it won’t matter how much you can carry.
Nah never even thought about adding another shunt that would go back to the factory projecta unit. May look into.

Never really understand roof top solar on caravans. most people with caravans use powered sites, when you are driving you use your car to change batteries and if you are off road you really want to park ( if you can) in shade. There isn’t much time the solar will be in use.
