The title alone pulled me in - I too am starting over as a single after ending a 9 year relationship. I love how the Universe gives us just what we need when we need it because I have been working obsessively to create a bedroom space that reflects my personality, my storage needs and my need to retreat safely and cozily from the world. Again, I am new to your channel and will try not to pretend that you are one of my new besties (even though I think you'd be bomb AF to hang/chill with) but know that you have a gift, not just in what you build and create with your hands (and clearly your heart) but the love and affirmation that you speak out in your voiceovers is really everything. Thank you for reminding me (and others I'm sure) that returning to single life was not the ending, but a chance for a new beginning, a magnificent rewrite to the story of self. May your pen flow freely ink never run dry, talented and beautiful lady. I'll be watching.

you moving furniture and doing it all yourself is me my whole life. and i love it. it’s hard work, but i feel like it gives you stamina to finish these huge projects that many would bail on. can’t wait to see the results!

I love how perfectly the vint hamper fit under your desk, how you tied it together with the rusty key ring and those railroad spikes in a jar. I love that you stapled the curtain rod. This whole video is a vibe and its vibe is RAW. From the gorgeous use of textures and woods, the earthy tones, Rachel's narration and openness and her just sharing this kind of vulnerability, it was all just super raw and powerful. I can NOT explain how much I live this video. Amazing before and after but not only that! There was never a point in this video that I was bored or wanted to skip. Everything that you where saying was 100% relevant and educating but not boring. Also I love you treating your dog like a person and the child talking about her business and you hyping her up was so cool.
Love this makeover! The plywood accent wall and ceiling seem so cool. I'd love to try it in an apartment or if there is like wood veneer wallpaper even just for that wood look and feel without any structural element to it.

I would feel at home instantly and I'm sure you're doing too, the room has such a calm and soothing athmosphere. Very, very well done! Im so happy to see someone else do something clever with their floors. Mine are all plywood and I'm replacing all of my floors. I used waterproof deck resurfacer to seal all of the floors. I have 4 kids and it has held up so well that I almost don't even care about laying new floors.
