@carsandbids I think the original with the carbon side blade just looked more distinct and striking, which it needs being a halo car. Currant R8 is just too wannabe lambo with the platform sharing and the angry styling. I actually think it's kind of ironic that its lambo platform mate is the "prettier" of the two since the original R8 was universally hailed as being a very good looking car.
i´m from Italy in 2008 i drove the Audi R8 ( V8 ) with the manual gearbox ... it´s a shame they offer only Automatic in the newer Generations but most American´s doesn´t know how to drive stickshift anyways ( manual transmission ) i´m sorry my english is not so good
Don't have anything against Kennan, but some constructive criticism/feedback: I feel like you're repeating yourself over and over in your driving segments. I had to check my viewing history to confirm I hadn't already watched this video.
An R8 is one of the most usable supercars. I bought an R8 as a weekend car and I missed the point of that car. R8's need to be driven everyday on a commute on backroads.
That weird sort of transitional period where Doug would awkwardly baby sit Kennan and introduce him as his slightly incompetent side kick was such a terrible idea. Turns out, if you just let Kennan do his thing he's at least as good a youtube car guy as Doug is.
great vid Kennan, the R8 is really fantastic. you have all the power and fun but you can drive it like a golf. The car has it all for sure and the looks are great. sporty and agressive without the craziness of other exotics. really a gem of a car.
Underground Racing has done a manual swap in a 2022 R8, while also adding twin turbos. It is possible but it is rare, I believe its the only gen 2 with a manual. I think since the transmission in the Gen 2 is so good, it wouldn't make sense to manual swap, plus there's other cars you can enjoy with it as well.

You can get the earlier ones with a manual.
