They make fight scenes cooler because when you guess what's going to happen it makes you feel smart because you got there with context clues you developed from paying attention to the series over time. I love how smug AFO is. "Oh. I knew those comics had a different ending than the one I wanted. So I simply decided to stop reading." During his speech to Yoichi back in S5, he said he would simply remake reality if he didn't like it. But when he got his hands on a quirk that could basically remake reality, it quite literally blew up in his face. And Shigaraki's. Speaking of which, it seems to be even harder to tell the distinction between who is currently in the driver's seat. Because at one moment we see AFO thinking back on his own memories with Yoichi. But a few seconds earlier we saw Shigaraki say, "I can control decay now" and he thinks back on his fight in S6 when he woke up. It just shows how much AFO and Shigaraki have melded together. Which is honestly pretty scary. As we saw in this episode, Shigaraki basically has a nasty combo. He can immediately steal someone's quirk and then decay them once he's done. And his regeneration isn't anything to play with either. He went from having no hair and looking like bacon that had gotten a bit too burnt to perfectly fine in a few seconds. Star went out with a smile though. She understood that it was over the moment her face was grabbed. So she already had a contingency ready. A way to destroy Shigaraki from the inside out. Also, this is the second time AFO has made fun of someone for not being alive. Savage. Star gave everything to buy the world just a little more time. Because All Might inspired her on that day. Rest in peace, Cathleen Bate. She left Shigaraki and AFO with one final message. That as long as someone inherited the will of a hero, they would be struck down. And inside the mass of Shigaraki and AFO, we see Tenko Shimura think of Midoriya.

There’s another American hero in the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes spin-off manga. His name is Captain Celebrity. I think you can imagine what he’s like based on that name. It’s a fitting name for a pro hero from America.
I think it's a very cute quirk of the Japanese language that her name is Cathleen but her nickname is Cassie and instead of assuming it's a pronunciation thing, when it carried over to the English dub they called her Cassie anyway (because the Japanese original would've pronounced Cathleen as something like "Cass-oh-leen"). So her actual nickname is Cathy, but both Japanese and English versions say Cassie. Another example of this is in Dungeon Meshi with a certain character with a TH name that was localized into S.
Changing the Cathleen Bate to 'You Cheated' as well is just so dogshit. This is why sub will always be better than dub. I think Star's voice actor actually did a good job. AFOs left a lot to be wanted. Yet Star was given terrible lines that don't fit the pacing of the animation which was designed for the Japanese lines. Akio Otsuka and Romi Park absolutely slaughtered the scenes between Star and AFO. Yet people watching dub never get to experience that masterpiece.
When All for One yells “You cheated!!” that was the first time we’ve seen All for One lose his cool. Even in his fight against All Might, he never lost his cool. Leave it to an American to make someone lose their composure😂
One reason I love MHA is the ability to create tension and suspense that works along with the story compared to other new gen's. Although I will admit killing Stars and Stripes was definitely annoying. The writer probably wrote himself into a hole. They were both too overpowered.
The whole reason she was killed was so that other countries wouldn’t get involved and people couldn’t say where are the top pros from other countries? Why aren’t they helping, and what about the military? The fact that Horikoshi answered those questions while creating a great character and raising the stakes is a testament to his writing, it is by no means writing himself into a corner
It was cool, tho, and im impressed we cared for her as much as we did. And there are things in the manga that do come into play because of this fight, so theres atleast something to it

She had to die or lose her power, because as it was said, All For One couldn't afford to let One For All and New Order join up. Star could have just said Izuku Midoriya can use 100% OFA with no restrictions and it'd be game over.

We told them. I and many other people said this since the first episode of this season came out, we told them do not switch back to dub, but the normies let their mha dub fans pressured them into going back. Changing AFO dialogue from "Cathleen bate" to "you cheated" was straight garbage and anticlimactic. It literally takes out all the raw emotion that the native language gives you.
