I think it's awesome you ( and Jami too) give away your trade secrets. Love Khalif, especially when he danced. And how cool is that,!!! Kacha is now using DIY paint. Love how this community is growing and supporting one another.
cool how big of a choice you have there! you are making me smile with my morning coffee :* i think its more like Kacha, not Kasha (ć sounds like a softer ch in say, check :) ask your retailer where he got that hat :)
How fun and cool and cute is your buddy, Kalife!? Kacha is great too! Same with Melissa and Stephanie! You’re blessed with some great peeps around you, and of course, they’re blessed to have YOU!!!
Really liked the interaction with Khalif! What a surprise when he started dancing!!! What fun!! My fav was the turquoise glass jug and the stool will be really cute when you paint and stencil it. Good to see what the girls are up to. Can't wait for the new videos with them! Thanks Debi!
I'm in love with Khalif and yes! He needs a page for us to follow! And Kacha, omg, she knows I love her and her amazing talent! I've been a follower since the beginning! Great video, Debi!
Oh I love that Kacha will be using your paint. I love watching her transform furniture. Can’t wait to see what she does! Oh and does this mean I can get that “Nacho Average” T?????
I love flea market videos SOOOOO much and you make everything interesting! Can't watch if they are boring. I had similar Mexican blankets from 27 years ago when we were stationed at Ft Huachuca in AZ. We went down to Nogales and bought 2 blankets, 2 figurines of a Mexican couple made from decoupaged paper and a steer skull with 2 bullet holes in it. I put the skull in a little sandy landscape with large rocks from the hills and some cacti. We chained the skull into the ground so no one could jump out and grab it and go. We left it there when we moved. I have a couple of similar chairs, one is from Mexico and the other is from Old Hickory Martinsville Indiana, might be valuable, might not. That cart is amazing, love it! Khalif has an amazing booth. I have a basket honey hole where I get them "bogo" and I try to get the most interesting ones to sale for wall collages. Oh Wow, I love Kacha's work. I'm intimidated about painting large pieces and she makes it look so easy! I have some pieces I need to paint when it gets warm, a buffet and a dresser with mirror, and a large dresser I've had since last summer. I also have a full dining room set with 8 chairs and a table with 2 leaves that i got for free. It's old at least from the 70"s! Super fun video!
I had so much fun watching this video, I want to watch it again! I keep hoping that one of these days, I'll be able to take another trip across country and visit San Diego again. And you can bet if I can swing the trip, your shop will be a must visit!
Khalid is super cool he should definitely do social media! Great finds and your mark up is very low, especially in CA...You have to figure in all the places you have scouted out to find treasures and then the labor and gas you spent. You have such a great eye for things! FYI charcoal and essential fragrance will get the smell out of old suitcases. I mix fragrance oil with vodka or rubbing alcohol and put it in a spray bottle and spray the inside of the suitcase then put charcoal and close it let it dry and repeat the smell will go into the charcoal which you can rinse and dry and use again also through some fresh orange peels from one or two oranges ...that will also get the smell out
Thank you Debbie for this wonderful video today, I was kind of sad today (missing my mom) and you and Khalif provide happiness to my soul, thank him, I am so glad Kacha will be joining DIY family, I love kacha and her dry brush technique, great artists💙😘😘😘
Kacha you are such an inspiration, I was watching your 5th podcast last night it was very encouraging and uplifting, I have been following you almost from your beginning, I love your style and your videos too, thank you girl 💙😘
What a pleasant surprise video! The man at Kobys is adorable! 🙂 I thought Kasha was on the east coast for some reason? I'm glad the two of you discovered each other! I loved seeing what you bought too. Also nice to see Melissa & Stephanie's new space! Exciting times at DIY! New items on website, yay! 💗🖐😃👏🙋♀️
So.. I'm watching and that cutie pie❤ flea market seller❤ starts dancing like YOU and I'm laughing out loud!! My hubby was, "what's that?" and peeks over my shoulder. Try explaining about Debi and her end of video dancing to a man 😂 😂 I loved this video, Debi! Great haul..& so fun to watch!!
I absolutely love Kacha!! I just finished a sideboard and used her video of the large gray and black buffet she did as inspiration but used my DIY paint of course! That's so awesome that she's now a DIY devotee.
OMG 😍 I love Kacha I'm so happy she's going to use diy paint ❤️ looking forward to her video she makes everything seem so easy ....Deb I want that ladder lol 😂
Oooooh - how exciting that you're going to feature Kacha - I've just been waiting and waiting to see her get her art on with DIY paint! Can't wait to see what she comes up with. Khalif was so cute when he broke out doing your dance! That was awesome! He has an amazing eye for sure. Woo hoo!
You could make those burlap stool easily with just a hammer and paintbrush. And the yard stick thingy would be easy too. Can't wait to see the candle sticks.
I came from kasha’s channel!! Omg I’m obsessed!! I live thrifting and I used to chalk paint years ago and the last two weeks I’ve been thrifting and am buying DIY paint to flip them! Now I gotta binge watch all your videos!!!
I love candlesticks and baskets. I spray painted a few baskets, and the wood didn't take the paint evenly, which was great, as it looked distressed. If you and I went shopping together? Lol We would buy the same things. I get lost in costume jewelry though. I just bought 3 rings at a local store, where I bought your paint. Even found golden ticket!! 🙌
Debi, for old musty suit cases sprinkle inside with dry coffee grounds, close the lid, a few days later discard the grounds (sprinkle them in your flower bed) then open the case and sit it in the hot sunshine for a few days. This should rid the case from the musty odor. Then to keep it fresh dab/rub a tiny amount of Wise Owl furniture Salve in the corners - this stuff works like magic to keep drawers etc. smelling great - comes in different scent - I'm sure you may know of some other similar type of product to use - these tricks have worked for me to get the musty smell gone! The coffee grounds work on old books & ephemera too, pile books in a plastic bag sprinkle w/ dry coffee grounds seal the bag for a few days and the stink should be gone. Also active charcoal works too - like the kind for fish tanks. Good luck and BTW NICE finds! Your vendor has a great eye for Vintage goods as well as you and your crew of Ladies! Thanks for sharing! HaPpY Hunting & SaLe$!
Your thrift haul is amazing and super helpful. I appreciate all the info, pricing, and detail you provide. I’m always keeping an eye out for cowboy boots. Not much luck yet. I miss living in Southern California and going to swap meets!
Exciting times at DIY Paint! I've had really good luck with removing smells by using whole coffee beans. I burned something in the microwave so I put a cup of coffee beans in there and left it a few days. It also worked on my pantry when I had a couple potatoes go bad. Nasty smell. Loved your swap meet friend. Those bottles are 😍! You did the dance better tho. 😆
Could NOT believe my eyes when I saw you had a new video up!! Just finished watching Jamie Ray and Zeb so woo hoo!! Bonus! Get that seller Dude online-why does CA have so many fun peeps??? Missed you and you cool vibe Debi! ❤️❤️Love from SC!
Great finds! Your sell prices are spot on. I can’t keep ladders in my shop either! I have that same cute chair ....I don’t want to paint it. If I had that amber jug in my shop, it would be $40+
Great Video Debi!! I would LOVE to go to the consignment places by you! Not many cool things at consignments stores or flea markets here in Michigan . If it’s cool it’s outrageously priced.. Thanks for the peek at your haul! Makes me want to go hunting!
Debi, I wanted to buy some of your paint so I found a retailer in my area and when to her shop, it is called Vintage Market, in Fort Collins, CO. It is an amazing shop! They have your paint displayed beautifully, and I thought... You should do a series where you showcase your vendors. Have them do a quick little video that you can post for people to see! I know, I'm genius. = )
I collect those chairs that you painted . I am sad. I paint furniture for a living but that chair is from 1885 . It is called a plank seat chair . The seat is ONE piece of wood. This is how you know how old it is . There are no trees that big anymore . Oh and the cowboy boots are worth more than 45.00
Oh how much great stuff you thrift'ed . I would ask at least 8. - 10 $ for the sap buckets . Display one with plants , succulents, in one to give and idea how to use them. But heck I don't have to tell you that😂. I love Kausa I know I spelled it wrong I just recently found her channel! Yes she's very talented.. OMG what the 2 of you could do together!!!! You her and Jamie could rule the World.....😂 TFS Great stuff you got.. HUGS xo
I am so excited to see Kacha use your paint! She's amazing!
I think it's awesome you ( and Jami too) give away your trade secrets. Love Khalif, especially when he danced. And how cool is that,!!! Kacha is now using DIY paint. Love how this community is growing and supporting one another.
