I can still sing all parts in my mind after decades :-) I also sang "Worthy is the lamb". Some of us also sang whole oratorio (Messiah). Maybe that helped me develop my taste for Handel. I prefer Handel to Bach.

The Freiburger Barockorchester seems to play more Bach and rarely Handel, considering their being a Baroque group. I might like Bach and Handel equally but think Bach is best overall, for things like Brandenburg Concerto 3. I'm doing something from college, Wachet auf ruft uns die stimme. I must have been on this one song throughout 2 years. I don't know where I'd be without Bach. Sometimes, it seems like the Freiburger Barockorchestser must flirt with Handel, like, "Come on, man!" like the German man in charge who grew up in Norway but is German. I like him a lot. Handel I think composed a lot in England, but I came across good English ancient music, too.

She has a wonderful timbre but she is often out of tune in the A section. I think sitting while producing soft high Abs is not a great idea! Also, nobody is paying attention to Jacobs's pulse. They don't need him. LOL

I hate rene jacobs direction, he is an overrated director, his marcation is always ahead. The orchestra sounds by itself, it is a drag and hinders the musicians.
You are obviously not a pro musician-all conductors beat ahead of the beat, otherwise how would we know where the beat is going to be? His band is brilliant, so he must be pretty good!
@@chrisjohnson9981 He conducts so much off beat, it is really confusing. Saw him live conducting a Händel opera, it seemed like he had a different score altogether. After the concert all my friends, including professionals had the same remark.
@@chrisjohnson9981 I am a professional musician, and directing out of time is wrong, in addition you could understand that I know a late response from a larger orchestra, this is a small orchestra, also they are very good musicians, no matter who they lead, they have ears and they will follow the soloist and not the director. This orchestra is not by Rene Jacobs, he was only invited to direct the production of the album. Just watch videos of the great directors, such as Celibidache, Simon Rattle, Zubin Mehta, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, and Claudio Abbado.

No, we had to do it in choir in grade school. I am not good singing standing up.
Quite the opposite. Singing while sitting is very natural, it helps the body be relaxed, provided one sits properly.

Sitting does not affect singing at all.
