It's amazing - knowing that 7 years already gone, but watching and listening this concert recognizing that it still fresh and shares bright emotions. Sincere thanks from soul and heart for this video - picture and sound on the highest level, great job.
Saw this tour in Philadelphia. Dave and Brian hopped on the bill for that one. With Corey Brannan, Tim Barry, Laura Jane Grace, Dan Andriano and Chuck. One of the best shows I have ever been to. Annnnnd Nathaniel Rateliff was supposed to also be on that tour as well, pulled out last minute
All the years of watching this tour via phone recorded for the shows. RUclips was like i guess its time to give this guy the HD great sound of the whole concert 😂😂😂. Only discovered this video this year
@@GreenGaslight Probably because Chuck is quite busy with Hot Water Music atm. Also he's become a father and said in an interview he doesn't want to be an absent father, which is totally understandable. Guy has been touring for over 25 years. The interview is called Ghosts on the Road if you're interested in it.
Favorite songs to myself to this day: Trusty Chords, Crawl, and The Boat in that order. I return to this video to hear these things. To revive the revival, you need to grab (force) some Blink 182 here. and EVERYONE will be there. Perferably Tom, but any would grab a crowd. JS. I'd go if I can afford either way
The amazing meta-ness of the performance of Great Expectations During the bridge, Brian Fallon sings the first verse of the song Warbrain by Alkaline Trio which contains a reference to the Hot Water Music song Trusty Chords and was backed up by Alkaline Trio’s Dan Andriano and Hot Water Music’s Chuck Regan….so perfect!
Its a concert tour Chuck Ragan was doing for awhile, bringing together a bunch of musicians all at once instead of the traditional opener-support-headliner show. They all work together on each others songs
Hat mich musikalisch sehr geprägt damals THX SO MUCH ❤
Hands down one of the most amazing shows to have ever happened. I loved, loved, loved the folky front porch ragged versions of all these songs. Revival music always hits my heart. This stage had 4 prolific songwriters on it, sharing each other’s work, and enjoying theirselves. I was fortunate enough to see the revival tour, but with a different (lesser known) line up. But! It was still incredible. It really brought me to the core of my soul. I truly felt revived after seeing it. So much, I had to follow it to the next place the following night, lol. So good! I miss these tours! Thank you Chuck for your humility, passion, and sincere heart brother. I’d love to see another one pulled together.
Im a G.A and Brian Fallon fan. Sampled some Chuck Ragan but not too extensively, tasted a bit if Dave Hause before..never had four course meal like this. Diggin this bigtime. I didnt know bout this till i came across it last night..been listening to it since. Shitballs i definitely have missed out. This some killer acoustic shit man! Love it! My ears are quit happy right now
I'm definitely feeling like I've been missing out too. I'm a huge Alkaline Trio/Dan Andriano fan and I've heard of Gaslight Anthem/Brian Fallon, but other than that I don't know these other dudes or their bands. I need to check them out.
@@nneumann33right!??? I guess better late than never..its huge musical treasure haha but for real tho. I saved it so i can jam it often. After seeing this. I pulled up gaslight anthem radio on pandora. Its awesome..lot of alkaline trio and frank turner, Dave Hause and chuck Ragen. People in the crowd sure were lucky .
They threw in that verse from warbrain that references trusty chords.... The connection within their music is pretty cool to witness with all of them on stage together
Brian Fallon must be the most prolific artist out there. His body of work is immense, it's not just about the numbers but everything he's involved in is great, perhaps the greatest talent ever. I'll admit when I first ran across him I kind of obsessed and for months he in his numerous incantations was about all I was listening to. My wife would ask whose that and I'd say Brian to which she'd reply I'd should have known. She was surprised by the amount of work and the quality of that work he has out there. Through Brian I also discovered so many other great artist I'd probably never would have found. It all started with No Surrender by Bruce Springsteen and some Smother brother look alike (sorry Brian) then I heard the 59 sound with Bruce Springsteen and it was on.
Eins der besten wenn nicht sogar das beste Konzert was ich je gesehen und primär gehört habe! Habe die erstausstrahlung gesehen und habe mindestens dieses Video 100 mal angeklickt.
'Cmon kid' is so powerful in this concert and has so much emotion and brought a couple tears to my eyes. Seeing all these people sing this song has some form of force behind it and it really shows in this song.
OMG .. I just discovered this after 10 years, while listening to some of this guys for almost 20 years now .. Nomad by fate & Great Expectations are absolute units ... Can't wait to see HWM in 2022!
I don't know how many watches it took me to notice that Chuck's string snapped in For Broken Ears and that intense, beautiful a capella masterpiece of a bridge was 100% improv. These guys are bards.
Every time I play my concerts in my living room, all alone, I envision myself flanked by the revival boys and scream my heart away alongside them. I love these guys!
So I was completely ignorant to this whole thing. Big fan of Danny and Alk3, but had no knowledge of Chuck or Hot Water Music or the Revival tour at all. I say all that to say, fuck am I glad I found this.
You know what's fuc--nah, I'll clean it up. These are all our friends. They don't know us, but they are with us every moment. In every time your heart sees someone pretty and forgets to beat. In every time you drive fast, or say "Tonight baby, let's do anything you want", or whenever the stars aren't out and you need a reminder, and... most importantly... anytime your a kid who's shy and can't think of what to be good at. Amen brother. I feel like I just live in a constant state of nostalgia, watching all these old videos, but I love it.
One of those things you start to understand when you leave your 20s behind...that nostalgia
Yes it did
Yaaaa, das ist goot !!!
I love to get stuck with it every single time. Once again hats off to WDR Rockpalast! 🖤
Who else is still listening to it? Absolutely masterclass. Wish we could see this soon again ❤️
I come back to this often. Especially love the rendition of Great Expectations here.
I was at the Newcastle show on this tour and man it was so good.
Back again ❤
Yeah im here again cant find quality like this anywhere! True quality is rare!

Not exaggerating, I watch this concert once a week while I work from home. Just amazing stuff. Thanks for this.
I get shivers every time I watch this. There's something just magical about it
Same here.
Same!
Not once a week, but I come back here quite often. It's like a home inside my home.
I was at this very show. Can't believe that was 12 1/2 years ago. Such a great memory.
Back again. Never Gets Old.
The algorithm hit a home run by suggesting this video.
Ill second that one. Its renewed my hope in it just a little.
hell yeah it did, heavy hit of nostalgia listening to this
Hell yeah man. Chuck Reagan and Brian Fallon? Shit yeah
All the years of watching this tour via phone recorded for the shows. RUclips was like i guess its time to give this guy the HD great sound of the whole concert 😂😂😂. Only discovered this video this year
This is literally one of THE BEST concerts i've been to. Still gives me chills and so sweet memories. :)
I wish I could travel back in time
We should start a petition for a 2018-19 Revival Tour! Been so longgggg
with this line up!
lets do it!
Could not agree more, we haven't had one in Europe in ages, any ideas why?

Be well and stay safe brother 🤙
Same here if I have a beer in hand this is on!!!
I saw this video online about 6 years ago, it inspired me to pick up an acoustic guitar and learn how to play. Years later I’m still playing.
Wow great story Matt!
Awesome!
I know that I am also late to the party but man Brian’s rendition of Great Expectations is mesmerizing. I felt those emotions at 9:28
Brian Fallon is so good..just with an acoustic guitar or with the whole band! whatever you name man! this guy rocks!

You said exactly what I was thinking, what a show to witness.
man this was 10 years ago.... this need to happen again. Man I just stumbled upon this here. Could be the best thing I've seen/heard.
For those of us late to this party- what is this absolute magic?!
Its a concert tour Chuck Ragan was doing for awhile, bringing together a bunch of musicians all at once instead of the traditional opener-support-headliner show. They all work together on each others songs
It was beautiful and pure and the world didn't deserve it, but Chuck gave it to us. Best show I have ever been to or will ever go to. It was perfect.
I've been tweeting them for years to do it again. Had a chance to go, foolishly said no. Regretted it ever since.
Its as close as any of us will ever find to utopia
The closest I came to the revival tour was when Chuck ( with Gaunt and Ginsberg) opened for Gaslight Anthem in Bruxelles.
Great expectations. That's my Jam
This concert helped me and my family stay sane during COVID lockdowns. Thanks!
dan’s set is so beautiful oh my god

Thanks for The Music Friends ♥️🙏 Like I told Dan Adriano Tonight at The Alkaline Trio Show in Munich Tonight....♥️🙏
I cried as an harmonica listening "Great expectations" wow
