I was on the battleship Missouri as a 16 inch gunnersmate. That ship took 2.5 million gallons to fill up.
According to google conversion that is 9,463,529 litres. Wow!
That is fucking mind blowing.. No wonder we have wars over oil...
Were you onboard when the Kamikaze crashed into it?
What’s the position and role of a 16” gunnersmate?
That was a steam propulsion system, so it used fuel oil, not diesel. Probably it was over a thousand feet long, I'll Google it later, and outweighed the yacht by quite a bit.
I just remembered. One of my cousins was on it back in the 60s or 70s. I can't remember now which one but sadly they are all dead.
Don't worry about the time between your videos, I think most of us now are here for the long term and can wait a bit for your in-depth content.
As always, thank you for the interesting uploads.
Plus this time I loved the bloopers!!
I have to say, 3 minutes is pretty good. Always entertaining and interesting. Highly recommended.
I'll second that!👍
As another super yacht youtuber pointed out.
It's not the cost of the elephant, it's the cost of the feed.
Or as is said in the Rolls-Royce Owners club, " It's not the cost of buying the car but the cost of it's upkeep after" and a vintage one is really expensive to maintain!!
"Just $5 worth please."
A friend of mine worked on Eclipse as an engineer (until recently...) I can confirm the 1 million litre capacity.
I have been going through eSysman withdrawals and WOW great to have you back. All top notch stories here, I would not have minded one bit if you went longer. Thanks to the subscriber who sent the Motor Yacht A pictures, they are excellent! I really liked the graphics of the transit of the Suez Canal, gives a sense of context for what it means to be in that dangerous area.
I agree, the *Suez Canal transit map* was very helpful, it's easier to imagine why and where dangers could lurk. And interesting to see how long time it takes for such a vessel to do the trip.
I love the info regarding the yachts, but those out takes totally make these video's perfect! Good stuff :)
Glad to have you back, e!
Merry Christmas mate
Crazy successful guy. From fishing to Norway's richest person. Kjell Inge Røkke is a Norwegian billionaire businessman. Røkke launched his business career with the purchase of a 21 m trawler in the US in 1982, and gradually built a leading worldwide fisheries business. In 1996, the Røkke controlled company RGI purchased enough shares in Aker ASA to become the company's largest shareholder
And he has now moved from Norway, to safe taxes...
You would too with Norwegian wealth taxes... Many startup founders leaving too
Back when people actually did careers and were succesfull business owners instead of crypto scammers and guru scams like now
love your videos!
You are freaking awesome thank you so much for the Rev content I really appreciate it.🌈🦄🐱
Excellent job! Travel safe!👍
I could watch the Superyachts news for hours.
THANKS ESYSMAN…FOR THE UPDATE,🤗💚💚💚
That’s a helluva lot of “Gree Shield Stamps” just for filling up - wonder if they qualify for a discount for the provisions as well?
It looks as if the “Rev Ocean” has way more flight deck space than our “Grey Funnel Line” aka the British Royal Navy, for all you landlubbers out there! Can’t help but wonder where the Bootnecks will store their “toys” such as the armoured RIBS, mini-subs (for the Shakey contingent, which we can’t confirm or deny their presence or existence, of course), the deco-chamber, not even any room for LDS style drop-down stern for some little landing craft (or a few Klepper canoes) and all the other stuff that makes for an interesting life! I might be retired but it’s nice to dream.
You slayed me once again at the end... "...Oh Jesus Christ!!"
Glad you're back, missed you!
You covered so much in this video thanks for sharing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🚤🛥️🛳️⛴️🚢
LOL thanks for putting in the bloopers at the end. Fun channel. I'll never be able to afford the millionaire toys but it's interesting to hear about them anyway.
Always great information on your channel. Love the bloopers at the end of this video.
As usual very interesting and informative ...keep up
Oh, I see... thank god you got back with another excellent video.
MY Barbara is in south Florida at the moment
👍
REV ocean... omg such a cool one... Has anyone seen the DECK PLANS?? im and like sure i saw them a few months ago but now can't find them anywhere... i spent like 8 hours looking lol. Anyone know if there are any? its so interesting seeing plans. thanks folks
Amadea moves from San Diego to Everett, Washington.
Best super motor yacht of the year 2022... AL LUSAIL.
Brilliant analysis Brilliant information BIG THANKS 👍👍👍👍
I hope they have a loyalty card buying that quantity of fuel. Plenty of Nectar points there
2.2 million to fill 😮
I know my vote of super yacht channel information of the year is!!! This one!! Fantastic year for you. Thank you
Fairly certain I saw the “A”, or a vessel of similar size and design, anchored in San Francisco Bay 7-8 years ago. In 30+ years of sailing the bay I’d never seen anything like it.
🇺🇸
Love the outtakes 👏🏻😂 7:45pm
As kid a super yacht was a 150ft Feadship, haha, I’m 50.
MY A just looks so sleek, great pics ... I love the more minimalist looks for yachts ... 😜
it is ok if you take time off for the end of the year!!
Having a yacht or any other complicated project build up with different builders across the world is asking for trouble - ask Boeing how it went when they were or still are receiving out of specs parts from their suppliers.
I will never complain about filling my car again lol. That’s just mind boggling numbers mate
Fabulous.
When you going to visit my yacht.
I think it's super.
Impressive, thanks!
And the horse he rode in on!
Loads of info, and v watchable - as always
Glad the bloopers are back!!
I’m sorry if I have missed it previously but how is it that a sanctioned boat in the UAE can refuel and still travel around the area with being arrested?
Because the UAE does not enforce sanctions from western countries
How much to just top up the tender .. which one?
Why are some M/Y not for sale in the U.S. or while in U.S. waters ? For instance m/y SO NICE ?
It's got to do with duty. It needs to be purchased offshore to comply with tax laws.
And there is me struggling to fill up 70L tank in my VW 😂
with $2.2mill in fuel. What is Eclips's range? (how long will that last?)
Yes I wondered this too.
At full load on all 4 engines 5.5 days. At optimal load on all 4 engines it is 6 days, but my guess is they are running 1 engine a day and swapping each day so they could last for 24 days on 1 engine under optimal load
TKS for The great Vid!
Cmon NORD NORD. NORD!! Yacht of the Year is NORD!!👊🏾
I have learned much from you. I would love to drive your car til the wheels fall off. I'm broke or I would be with you on patrion.
Hi. Regarding MY A, what would happend if, lets say a US registered ship "crashes" into it? Could the US then claim its part of an investigation and board it? Or could MY A just "sail" away? Thx for the great content.
Very interesting question.
Far as I can tell if it's stateless, and in international waters, then it does not have the protection of any state. So, yes, in your example the US could probably board it to carry out their 'investigations'. If a stateless ship is in the national waters of another state (UAE in this case?), then that country 'probably' has the right to board it. It's basically like a person without a passport and is a bit of a legal black hole that they drop into, but not exactly a safe way of avoiding international law, the vessel is simply without protection provided by the flag state. Further as the freedom to navigate the high seas belongs to states, and not individuals, there is a case to be made that such vessels lose the right to navigate international waters.
Fuel costs 1.10€/1.17$ per litre in Turkiye and it holds 1,000,000ltrs of fuel max capacity (Alleged) so it won't cost 2.2million to fill up
Do you know there is a yacht called Ouranus?
Ever curious, at 6.7L/100km (my Mazda 3) I calculated would have to travel (give or take) 14,925,373km using 1M Litres of gasoline. (Maybe in 15 of my lifetimes lol). Always enjoy your vlogs. Cheers.
That's driving several trips to the moon and back. What an idea. I am now making preparations for such a journey in my car
[Edit] For those wondering shich route I'll take, of course I'll take the Milkyway.
You live in fantasy land! I love it. Merry Christmas!
I would like to vote for a Yacht that isn't on your list.
My choice is: Luminosity
thats fuel must be really expensive
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO U ALL GOD BLESS
2:44 how can anyone move on from a 2.2 million dollar fuel bill ?
A podcast?! Yes please
I wonder if motor yacht A will ever become a Lego set
I'd rather have motor yacht _Octopus_ become one. 🚢
What happened to bezos' ship?
Fascinating video as usual. I won't complain about filling my car up again.
Question: Is it a legal requirement to be flagged and have a port of registration?
Yes if you want to dock pretty much anywhere in any port. Also you need it for insurance.
Legal......I'm struggling to understand which Government is the Least Pirate.
Unless Military Ownership.......Keep you filthy Hands off! Just because you don't recognise a Foreigners Rights
Civilian Property is being Illegally Taken....Any American would've preached Amendments ##
Since cost is no object with these people, why not commission a cruise ship builder for their yacht? Are there regulations preventing them having a boat that size for noncommercial use?
1.000.000 of fuel will that be enough for a around the world trip?
In a yacht no
Eclipse is moored at Bodrum Turkiye for at least a month
I know it depends on speed, wind, conditions etc. but how long does a full fuel tank last on a vessel such as this? Thanks so much for the channel. Very much enjoy it.
One would be looking at 9 days fuel maximum for this particular craft.
Probably 10-12,000 miles range
@@Sokeresa Not even close. What are you smoking? Most yachts this large are 900 to 1500 miles MAX before requiring refueling lol Those aren't Volkswagon 4 cyl diesel engines LMAO
@@TheUnforgiven69 you're very wrong, this yacht ar 21knots,or close to top will do 6000 miles. Drop it back to 10,or 12 you'll be getting 10,000
@@noksucowboy Dont be a liar. No one likes a liar. A 95-foot yacht with a 9000-liter fuel tank can travel up to 1,200 nautical miles.
A 40-foot yacht with a 5,000-liter fuel tank can travel up to 3,000 nautical miles.
Think of it this way: the bigger the boat, the bigger the fuel compartment.
The bigger the fuel tank (for the size of the boat,) the farther it can travel.
You are dreaming if you think it has a million gallon tank
PLEASE don‘t ever apologize again for „being away a week“! Jesus, everyone should take a break for at least THREE WEEKS every once in a while! We‘ve got to learn to slow down sometimes 😉 …
Agree. Take time off. We are not going anywhere and will happily wait to catch-up even if you are away for two weeks - ideally on a yacht.😅
I hope they wipe the windows for that price.
The price isn't right, marine fuel doesn't have VAT so it's way cheaper than car fuels
You pronounce his name as: "Shell Einge Rucke" Rucke is not phonetically perfect but probably closest to simplest for an english speaker.
Hey! Please cover the Russian cargo ship that was escorted to a the South African naval Harbour where there was cargo exchanges that happened in the middle of the night and under current electricity blackouts for extra secrecy.
Capacity: "370,000 litres", next sentence, it took 1,000,000 litres of fuel. #confused
Listen again, he is taking about two different vessels in that statement. 👍🏼
2.2 $ of fuel, well I think I can drive my car and motorbike for a couple of years.
More like a 1000 years I think
Can you still get insurance on a vessel without a flag state? great update 2x👍
I don’t understand how the yachts of private citizens can be arrested by another country?
Then you clearly haven't been watching the videos.
Can you please do a list of the best new yachts of 2022 or upcoming in 2023
Fellow audience, remember to *vote* on the channel's "community" section. Thanks for interesting updates, eSysman.
How often do these yachts refuel during an average year?
Despite sanctions oligarch Roman Abramovich still got huge cash flows coming his way ! Because if not then he could not pay for the fuel and staff which are taking care of it.
Imagine being able to spend £2.2million just to fill up your yacht... Or waiting 8 years for your yacht to be finished....
it's probably becoming a thorn in his side
My vote goes to anyone’s yacht who’s been used for humanitarian purposes recently, ie rescuing people in trouble or shipping supplies to save lives, has any captains or owners factored these activities in their schedules? Would make a great article and set an example to others if anyone has,
I love your channel it’s surprisingly interesting to me and keep up the great work
Two thumbs up for your honest and unbiased factual news channel 👍👍
Rev classification is a tricky thing.
The only thing I afford to fill on Eclipse is their coffee pot.
Lol...All these ships with no ensign.....Why not just be honest and go with a jolly roger at this point?
Don’t see a link for the voting?
I never used to get them, until I subscribed to the channel. 🤗
It’s there now
Do all of these huge super yachts dump their trash into the ocean?
No, check out MARPOL
How far can 2 million dollars of fuel get you? And how much money would one have to be worth for that to make financial sense?
Would have been cheaper to fill up at Hobbs yard in Henley. Navigating the locks and the low bridge at Cookham could have been tricky, but those are just details.
Hello Mr. E Question about "Design. Style and Function." When I look at Super Yacht "A" ... well I don't like it. Looks like a floating 3 story enclosed condo, unlike other yacht, that have large open tier level decks, utilizing a lot more of the available space. I'm sure there's a reason the owner loves it. I'd like to know what you think about it's "Design. Style and Function." Is there any Yachts that jump out at you as beautiful and others that just seem a few shades to ugly? 🤔
I totally agree, the buyer's taste is in his ass. All the money in the world and he has built something that resembles a submarine. Absolutely horrible looking boat.
If you had a billion dollars, you could fill up that 1 million liter tank over 450 times excluding the upkeep and crew. Wow!
Current diesel price in Turkey is about $1.20 pre litre. If he put in a million litres it could have cost $1.2m asssuming he paid the forecourt price. I would guess he gets a substantial discount.
More great addictive content. 👏. The world is full of contradictions, super yachts burning millions (probably billions collectively) of litres of fuel is OK but we ban plastic straws? I'm not an eco worrier, just amused by the contradiction. Keep up the good work. 👍
I'm paying less that 22 Turkish Lira for a liter of diesel here in Turkey now - curious why the bunker fuel costs almost 2X as much, you would think they would get a discount for that amount....
to put into perspective how large of a fuel tank 1million litres is, that is a tank 1m tall, 10m wide and 100m long. so pretty much an entire deck of that yacht knee deep in fuel.
I have a 1 million litre cylindrical vertical tank and it is 60ft across by 12 ft high approximately. 18.3X3.66 metres.
Wouldn't Eclipse have to be classed as an oil tanker???
