Inside Saudi Arabia: in Search for Freedom

- We travel across Saudi Arabia and follow the reforms from within for a year. The country wants to diversify its economy by opening its borders to tourism.
In Jeddah, many young people hope for change, demanding greater equality between men and women, but the conservative opposition is enormous. One wrong word and they can be arrested. How far do they go in the fight for freedom?

Visited Saudi Arabia 1 year ago and made some videos of my experience. What I noticed is that Saudi people were among the friendliest I’ve ever met in my travels. This country has a very bad reputation in the media.
My experience was totally different. Was there for 4 months on business and I must say I have never been in any country where I felt more unwelcome as a US citizen.

Saudi Arabia is very very infamous in East Africa. The Arabs are very racist, and still practice slavery. it is not uncommon for domestic workers from East Africa to be killed by their employers.

Media? Saudis (unfortunately) travel so we get to experience their 'friendliness'. They're horrible.
We want a documentary about the state of Morocco, and I will be happy to receive your channel crew here in the city of Agadir, Morocco
Let me check with the Ministry of Culture and municipality of Agadir first. You need a permit. Please respect the law.

I wouldn't mind visiting there. Saudi Arabia is beautiful and historic but like many old countries people are afraid of change and the consequences it may bring especially in the strict religious places.
For good reason. The change is for the worst.
"you can do whatever you like - except for forbidden things " 😀
That’s exactly what happens everywhere.
Mohamed Bin Salman Al Saud is an incredibly bright intelligent and kind leader who is delicately making changes , a difficult task as he negotiates the minefield of previous long-standing beliefs and culture. Will he make mistakes on his journey of course but I firmly believe given time he will succeed in shaping and improving the lives of his people that he sees as his extended family . He has shown the courage like some of his predecessors to effect change to benefit his country . The west needs to waken up to this visionary respecting the views and progress that he is accomplishing and work with him the country of Saudi Arabia under MBS will become even more powerful on the world stage and continue to benefit from his remarkable leadership
the amount of risk taken for such a documentary is unbelievable. This is committed journalism.
There is no where God will not go and there is no one He will not work through. Go figure. I am grateful to this man for His love in exposing this world to us. For me as a Christian, this is a prayer answered. The world is truly perishing.
As a Christian, you are superstitious & can't seem to fathom how you are engaging in cofirmation bias..but alas, there's no reasoning with most indoctrinated religious folk@@gucheddie3204
We don't t need to look for freedom from your eyes..keep your blind eyes with you
Interesting documentary....thanks alot

Change is not an objective in itself It is a tool aimed at improving a process
If only you had voiced over the translation, this video could be excellent.

Wow. Watched every minute of this report. A lot of travel, gives a broad perspective about the contrasts between the different people from small villages to the major cities. My favorite part is the mobile Mosque.
Wow such freedom, look at the women who are allowed to actually go outside.
going outside is hardly the epitome of freedom.
Yep, they looked at what Western women are doing outside and decided it is not beneficial.
That sounded more like Sataaan to me. The prince of the air has blessed his princes in Saudi for real and we see one in real life 😅
Well , women will be queuing up to meet the friendly men there . 🙄
Binti Lina has an unusually strong american accent 😮
As a journalist you should be objective and respectful of the law. Why would you do something illegal and give driving lessons? I mean, I’m totally with you, off course they need to be able to drive, but you’re putting yourself in a questionable situation. It’s not very professional.
You're obviously male.
In search of freedom in Saudi Arabia 💀
Wahhabism didn't spread violence, you need to ask the Israelis about that.
Both did, why the false equivalency?
@@FactStorm Because the teachings of Wahhab are anti violence, people just latched onto propaganda term. A more correct term would be Salafism. Salafism is an adherence to orthodox Islam, just as we call some jews orthodox jews. Where is the false equivalence ?
Funny how so many religions exist, and even funnier how within these religions exist countless conflicting & contradictory sects and denominations. It's almost as if all of them are making stuff up and set up camp about what they believe.
Not only is it Muslim vs. Christian vs Jew vs Hindu etc..but Sunni vs Shiite, Catholic vs Protestant, Orthodox vs Haredim).
Nobody needs another cult centre that leeches off of people who pay taxes. It's quite ironic for religious apologists to accuse others of propagating propaganda. Religions are by definition supernatural beliefs..they are the masters of deceit. Religion is the oldest, successful and most perfected form of propaganda.
@@laurastuart3814
@@laurastuart3814it is the british and american who created the these terms of Salafism and wahabism. From the mouths of the English "these fucking wahabis".
Salafiyyah السلفية is the methodology of the 3 golden generations: the companions (of the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم), the companions students and the students students.
The sect who is the grandfather of ISIS,Al-Qaeda and the like are called the Khawarij. A word we never seem to find in Western MSM due to the West (and Israel) being the ones to create fund and supply them.
Do not praise your own faith exclusively so that you disbelieve all the rest. If you do this you will miss much good. Nay, you will miss the whole truth of the matter. God, the Omniscient and the Omnipresent, cannot be confined to any one creed, for He says in the Quran, wheresoever ye turn, there is the face of Allah. Everybody praises what he knows. His God is his own creature, and in praising it, he praises himself. Which he would not do if he were just, for his dislike is based on ignorance.
Adil al-Kalbani comments are so confusing and actually very scary. How can anyone believe that reforms will come from people like him who hold liberal and progressive views only as a cover up for extreme non tolerant views same speech 🤔
No wonder why he's a Sufi....just bringing up some kind of controversies in all his conversations almost with EVERY person he interviewed.
I cannot see westerners visiting as tourist until the middle east has peace. Security is paramount to encourage tourism in any Islamic country from the USA and the west.

Being Muslim in Saudi Arabia seems like what it would have been like being Jewish in Jerusalem long ago,..
😮Assallam aleikeium WA Rahmatullahi était barakatuh
I agree 💯. Jesus called out Jewish leaders for their hypocrisy. And they hated Him so much for that. The jews loved their man made rules but.. they did not have any qualms breaking the 10 commandments God gave them at mount Sinai. History keeps repeating itself. The true God of, the Creator of Heaven and earth has already revealed Himself to the world. And the world rejected Him. But His people will hear His voice and follow Him no matter where they are even in Saudi. ✝️💕

Allah is the only and one God. Hence, Saudi Arabia cannot impose Islam on its population. It is HARAM! Even more when you see celebrities/foreigners like Ronaldo come and break their rules for material purposes (money). Allah says that there is no compulsion in religion and that the rightful has been distinguished from the wrongful. Also God never forbade women from driving, this is ridiculous.
Most muslims reverts are from Christianity.. ask yourself some questions
I think you should go to try this in Daaman😊
Just let you know Saudi is the best country in the world 🌎
KSA is a tribal state, I think it's offensive insisting in changes but yeah have some social problems, anyway I appreciate the documentary but it seems so close to the north american ideology, and we know USA is the villan not the hero
tribe state stay away total dictertoship
I can see nothing but Islamophobia in this doc. The presenter doesn't respect the people leave alone the traditionals. Whenever he sees something or some practice he quickly comes up with his own conclusions and judgements. If Islam oppresses women so much why islam is the fastest growing religion in the west among women? Surely Allah will preserve Islam wether it is in the hand of the Saudis or any other people. Lastly if any religion would have been attacked the way Islam has been, from the crusades to propaganda by western media like this one, it would have died long ago. So wake up to reality
It’s Saudis mistake for putting him on pedestal. These type of westerners respect aggression rather than respect.
Couldn't agree more. He's a clown
Personally, I don’t agree with the Saudi policies as a Muslim, but I did find the journalist biased. I’m tired of always seeing stereotypes or western ideology imposed. If you want to document you should present the information, not give your opinion on it and even less if you’re travelling to another country with different traditions.
