China robot conference: Hyper-realistic androids show off emotional range in Beijing

- Visitors were treated to a display of vivid androids among others at the 2023 World Robot Conference (WRC) in China's capital Beijing on Thursday, with new technological advancements that upgraded the humanoid robots' micro-expressions and gestures.
The human-like robots won praise from some visitors while others expressed shock at their hyper-realistic appearance.

Once they start walking like they move in upper body portion then would be cool to have it as a extra helper to like double or endless your own choirs that one can't. The danger with all this are between state governments competing to dominate the market with AI tech until someone makes the fatal mistake of giving these robots the wrong ideology or a bias opinion... then we all could be in danger or just one particular ethnicity ... i think its absolutely fantastic but also terrifying.
Fantastic is the correct word. These are robots, animatronics, not learning machines. They don't have opinions, or ideologies,not even intelligence or emotions, they are machines. They can display emotions, but that's puppetry.

I like one of the versions of the original film. It is much better than the book.
But the future technology in that film has absolutely nothing to do with the technology shown here. And it is not a believable future either way. Still a good film, but the idea that it has anything to do with how technology is actually developed and used is ridiculous.

"Without question" is the problem. Humans hate machines that ask back, it forces them to think.
