  • Retrofit Talks is a webinar series platforming architects and product manufacturers to discuss completed or ongoing retrofit projects.
Part of Retrofit 24, these talks give a voice to built environment professionals, allowing them to detail in their own words the process, challenges and outcomes of their projects. Connecting people, allowing for cross country dialogue, Retrofit Talks gives the audience the opportunity to learn from our presenters and ask questions in the Q&A.
Matt McKenna of Architecture for London presents Clerkenwell Office. A Victorian warehouse building in Islington that was in need of refurbishment. The building was enlarged by nearly 50% whilst also reducing it’s energy requirements. Clerkenwell Office is now fossil fuel free, the new triple glazing provides better u- values and air tightness and by removing layers of ad hoc partitions and finishes collected over the buildings 150 year life, the architects were able to reveal the beauty of the structure of the building.
