- These guys put out one of my favorite death metal albums of all time way back in '92, and most people nowadays probably just know them from liner notes' thank-you lists. Let's rectify that, shall we?

I do some podcasts...
This one is pretty famous, and the audio version of RFI is the midroll segment:

This one is up-and-coming, and it also has good jokes:

It's about time for a Bethlehem episode...
I've definitely thought about doing one, so it'll happen some day. A lot of the cleaner, more ambient-sounding parts of Disharmonic Orchestra songs have crossover with some of Bethlehem's stuff. Early Atrocity also has some overlap with that kind of thing.
Damn, i'm seeing disharmonic orchestra next month, did not expect to see you cover them.
Really good stuff. Great channel, been watching u for some time, cheers.
It'd be crazy to see a band like that over here, I don't know if they've even toured the US before. I did get to see The Chasm live twice as far as weird death metal that I never thought I'd get to see goes, so never say never I guess.
One of the only good things about living in Europe lol. They're playing with Blood as the support in Poland of all places. Also btw, do you like Kaevum and would you consider doing an episode on them? They don't have a lot of material, but what's there is decent, imo at least.
I still have to check Kaevum out, they've been recommended a couple times. Disharmonic Orchestra and Blood is a crazy good lineup. They gotta throw in Depression and maybe Agathocles for ultimate old school grind weirdness.
Great to see you covering these guys...one of my def faves; had Not To Be Undimensional Conscious on cassette back in its release date...fantastic, love yer channel...hails from New Zealand.
Cool. Do Disastrous Murmur next. Only one album worth discussion, but its really all you need.
Where Can I Park My Horse is Disharmonic Orchestra’s Breaking the Law
Yes!!!! Finally a Disharmonic episode! From the carinthian death metal scene, i personally prefere Disastrous Murmur but Disharmonic Orchestra are legends and live they kick ass. Thank you for the Episode 🤘
Mate i can't concentrate on what your saying when that
goddess on the screen has me entranced .
Today I discovered something weird & wonderful & I sincerely thank you Sir. Well done!
To me, they were the Primus of Death Metal
Really happy to see you covering a band like Disharmonic Orchestra. I’ve always thought that their split with Pungent Stench was one of the best metal splits of the late 80s. It’s like the extreme metal version of the Faith/Void split LP, even though I’m sure neither of those bands are really at home in an RFI comment section. Also, funny that you mention Demilich earlier on in your analysis. Because my absolute obsession with Demilich encouraged me to check out a lot of the more weird death metal bands, and Disharmonic Orchestra just so happened to be one of those bands. Great work as always!
Demilich was probably the first really weird band I heard way back when, maybe like 2005-ish. They used to have all their stuff up for free on their old website because Necropolis ripped them off or something. I actually got into Disharmonic Orchestra a little bit after that because someone on a forum told me that Pleasuredome sounded a little like the second Atrocity album so I had to grab that really quick.
Excellent! I hope one day you'll cover Phlebotomized, another super weird band.
I'm definitely gonna cover them at some point, absolutely love those guys. Their second album in particular is criminally underrated.
@@radiofreeinnsmouth1337 Second album was mostly written by Lawrence Payne, hence the sound of it gets weirder. As far as I know Payne nowadays went deep into religion (extremely ironic considering he wrote lyrics like "Preach Eternal Gospels"), and guitarist Jordy Middelbosch now is a famous cook chef on Dutch TV.
Oh hell yes RFI
love these guys. Seeing them live in my country later this year!
also, I wonder if StarGazer were inspired by them, since they also use fretless bass for the more melodic phrases. Perhaps something you could analyze in a future episode...?
Don't know if you're into Cold Meat Industry kind of stuff beyond Mortiis, but Ordo Equilibrio based a whole song on that atmospheric intro to "Groove". It's called "Reaping the fallen... the first harvest" if anyone wants to check it out, pretty great IMO.
I don't know Ordo Equilibrio but as far as non-Mortiis Cold Meat Industry goes I like the Ulf Söderberg / Sephiroth stuff a lot.
Any chance of covering Incantation and or Dissection someday?
When I first saw the cover for Undimensional Conscious I thought the person on it was Butthead… and then the name of the band made me think it was some avant-garde jazz group.
Been a fan of the show for a year now, you got a telegram channel or anything like that? Keep up the good work
Hollenthon? I think they're pretty great, but my friends seem to hate them
I think Disharmonic Orchestra like Mahavishnu Orchestra
Unrelated to the subject of the video, but track Flashback from Megaman Zero 2 reminds me of Autopsy's Grip of Winter which made me love the track more. I think that's a sign I should listen to more doom metal proper than death doom.
Snoozefest brigade represent!
Megaman in general goes hard with the music. I'm definitely 100% in the snoozefest brigade, been listening to Crypt Sermon and Sorcerer all week.
Id love an episode of you dissecting ArEan Art. That unique way you describe the nuances in various music genres has always captured my attention time and time again.
Hi
Juib you like Tristania?
I haven't ever really listened to them that much. I do really like the very similarly named band Tristitia a whole lot though!
@@radiofreeinnsmouth1337 Tristitia is what I meant. Love that band
Yeah they're fantastic.
@@THEMEATMANOG i made a doom playlist just recently over on the JOABA youtube channel, i put tristitia on there and it didn't seem like that many people were into it! glad to see other fans!!! tristitia rules \m/
Whoa, I didn't realize the Tristitia guy died last August. That sucks, he was just starting to put new stuff out.
