I've owned the k2, k3, and just ordered the k4. It's incredible how much thought you guys put into these packs and still sell at a very reasonable price point.
I had a great conversation with mark today it wasn’t hard to convince me to place my order on the new K4 5k I’ve done hours and hours of studying pack designs, features, materials and layout for me with experience running other packs and knowing what I don’t want it was and easy choice. As a business owner myself I appreciate your guy’s dedication to maintaining quality and customer service the bigger companies tend to lose quality. I’m excited to put mine to the test.
I listened to a recent podcast episode on the Backcountry Hunting podcast with Joseph VonBenidikt with you and Mark as quest. Highly informative but it’s nice to see a thorough video on your new K4 packs and frame.
I’ve been doing a ton of research on packs, and I came across two guys who did a really great review on the k4. So, in going to buy it and see how well it works.
Impressive Steve - I have purchased a 1800 K3 pack and it has performed great 👍🏻 Put me on your list next time you need performance testing on your packs. 😁 I had to ask! Thanks
Thanks, Cole. We'd love to get up to Canada some day, but as a very small company of only 7 employees, we just don't have the staff to travel to many shows (even here in the US).
If I wanted the shortest frame/bag height combo possible, I'm thinking the 22" stays with the 3600 bag no lid would be best? I have a very short torso and am in thick stuff alot so I don't really want a tall frame. However I would like to have the option of being able to haul heavy stuff occassionally, so thinking of maybe going with the above combo most often, but then switching to the 23.5" stays when I know I'm going to need to haul weight? Does that seem like the best option for my use?
Absolutely. We'd recommend grabbing additional locking buckles to make sure those awkward loads don’t slip at all. exomtngear.com/locker. And also if you get a large pile of sheds the strap extensions would be useful: exomtngear.com/collections/k4-accessories/products/k4-strap-extensions.
Can you move the lumbar pad up and down on the frame or does it fit in one spot only? Do the sholder straps have the little shock absorber built in like the k3? What is the cost for a frame only? Thanks
K4 Frame Only price is the same as it was for K3, which is $375. You can make some minor adjustments in lumbar position, but there isn't meant to be a wide range of movement.
I love the design of this but the only con i can really see is the lack of molle on the straps, so if you were to design a better version thats all i could request
That is a custom build. Defiance anTi-X action, 20" carbon barrel in 6.5 Creed, Thunderbeast Ultra 5 suppressor, MDT HNT26 chassis. Some more info on our chassis testing/comparisons here: exomtngear.com/chassis
I was going to buy a multicam k3. Is there an eta on k4 multicam or is multicam being completely phased out? I know what every one is thinking too. Yes. Garand Thumb is one of your best salesmen.
@@ExoMtnGear Awesome... thinking about packing in the shorter stays to convert from "haul" mode to day-pack mode. Really appreciate the fast feedback!! EXO ROX !!
We don't put a weight limit / restriction on the frame as it is built to handle well beyond any practical load someone can haul out of the mountains. From a practical standpoint I don't like to go over 115lbs on a single trip if I am at all in technical terrain. - Steve

Well done boys. Can’t wait.

Appreciate it!
Damn you definitely put some thought into the design, I am a super proud k3 owner, and definitely looking into the k4 7200
Appreciate the continued support!

Thanks, Adam! Glad to hear that 1800 is working well for you.
Looks awesome guys, I love my k3 4800, any plans to come up to BC Canada in the future for some shows?
Thanks, Cole. We'd love to get up to Canada some day, but as a very small company of only 7 employees, we just don't have the staff to travel to many shows (even here in the US).

That may work well, depending on your height/build. Shoot us an email or call us and we can guide you further.
Can I use the straps from the frame to come around the pack and really tighten down a load of elk sheds?
Are there any plans to make a smaller bag? Something in the 1800-2500ci range?
Yes, we will have one out this summer in the 2000 to 2200 range.

Will K3 packs work with the K4 frame?
Unfortunately not. There are so many differences with K4, the K3 stuff just isn’t compatible.
This is a little off topic but what rifle setup is Steve rocking at :52 into the video? Or I believe that is Steve

No more Multicam for K4, unfortunately.
