I'm genx. I was bullied daily in grade school and jr high.
I wasnt a fast runner and they always got me. Until one day my friend told me i needed to stop running. I did and i turned around and let lose on one of them, wiped my nose which did get hit once and after he backed down, i challenged his two friends. They backed off. The whole time, my buddy cheering me on but not joining in. Never got bullied again.
I cant imagine the cyberbullying that happens now.
I realize that bullies have other issues but those who are being bullied suffer untold pain because of their actions.
Ending bullying starts with the parents.

As a person with Autism I was bullied a lot. I was diagnosed with high functioning autism. I had my own ways of learning and seeing things in a more clear path. I was always bored in school got in trouble for not doing my homework but always tested high on tests without any studies. I have a passion for math. Also anything with an engine. Love electrical problem solving but never learned it I’m all self taught. My son also was diagnosed with high functioning autism. I’ve always knew I was different but didn’t know why. Autism power we unite!!!!!!!

The same with me and it was my daughter's diagnosis a couple of years ago that helped me make sense of my life. Here I am at seventy finally understanding why life was so hard and I was picked on and bullied so much. Not sure it is worth getting a diagnosis so late in life, but just knowing that it is likely helps me cope. Really the only way any of it makes sense.

I also have a loved one with autism and before he was 17 was kicked out of school. But just now he can't figure out his working niche in life. We are financially supporting him but his talents are stifled as in our small town there are no businesses that can offer him a job where his skills can be an asset to him and hopefully to a workplace.

Late in the afternoon, my husband and I used to sit with our chickens. We learned most of their calls and mannerisms. When a hawk would fly over, the lead “town cryer” would sound off the warning and all of them would freeze in place or run for cover depending on the situation. We loved it. Thanks for sharing!

I had a chicken with a hurt leg a few months back. I had to hand feed her also and make sure she drank; gave her electrolytes in water. I gave her plain yogurt with black seed oil mixed in, as well as dried oregano with her scratch. She seemed most interested in protein ie: black sunflower seeds , meal worms and boiled eggs. It took her about 3 weeks to want to join the others. She's good now but still has a limp which improved over time. I hope your little chicken gets better! I don't know the cause of her hurt leg but thought maybe what I did might help. ❤🤞

Because it's a trait of our nature and if one way of getting the bully to stop doesn't work then a separation of some sort whether physical or mental is the next step. Jesse you have used your platform again to initiate positive and progressive action and it's greatly appreciated.

Autistic people are very interesting people----very insightful---and have a lot to offer, they enrich society..Bullies are cowards..crass--.lack empathy---and miss out on the joys and satisfaction of being at peace with others and building something great for themselves---based on what they're blessed with. Life isnt a competition--on that basis failure is the only outcome-and that's a loss for everyone, We are different for a reason.

Lived 9 years in the high dessert when we first got married and had kids and really did not care for the air, dry winds crackling energy and such, but your photography of the monsoons make them look so gorgeous and otherworldly. Also the discussion of Autism was interesting and well thought out. I was considered an odd/weird person when younger, but have learned to be successful in having a good attitude regardless and gained strength from my trials. My mom was helpful with that and the sticks and stones adage always reminded me and was kind of a shield. I do cherish my alone time and hanging with my dogs and the animals around my garden. :D Love all the projects you all are working on! Thanks for sharing.

My only critique of the bully analysis is regarding your comment that no one likes bullies.
Unfortunately, I feel like a huge portion of Americans do in fact like bullies as long as they’re on their side. Our former president being the perfect example.
Millions of people like his bullying, so long as he’s bullying the people they want bullied.

Still say WHEN you both get a chance look into reversing your catchment system to fill the cistern completely and use the poly tanks as the over flow backups using a sump pump to send the over flow to them. Starting by emptying them completely everytime they’re full in the cistern till it’s full making the cistern your main feed tank.

Jim, you got a lot of gravel there, it is just spread thin. Rake it up and getter done. The sooner you have the gravel in and some dirt over those pipes the better. When the true monsoon rains come a gully washer you will be glad you did. I would want at least a foot of dirt over everything so they do not float up. It those ditches fill up with water, don't be surprised if those end caps pop off from the air pressure in the slant tubes pushing.

Tip, increasing the surface area within your earth tubes increases the cooling surfaces and cools air more effectively. Like a silencer in a gun, the increased surfaces dampen the sounds. Imagine the possibilities dream team.

Thank you, Jess for the words of wisdom. I hope the monsoon gives you all a plentiful supply of water and enough breaks to get the needed work done.
