a personal opinion on weather a person likes a game or not cant be incorrect. if someone doesnt or does like something that is just a person opinion. try not to let peoples personal opinions upset you. i can see you are getting pretty defensive in the comments so i hope you are ok 🙌

i get that but in this case of weather i like a game as much as other games is a completley a personal opinion. or how people feel when they play a game is how they feel. not right or wrong just simply a person opinion. people have looked so far into a a strangers personal opinion about a game and taken it personal themselves as if i am attacking their different opinion

Let ME help stir the pot in saying this game DOES NOT FEEL LIKE A ZELDA GAME. It could've EASILY been a 3rd party game and named something else. Period. NOT SAYING I DONT LIKE IT!
As someone who has played every game in the series except for the cd-i games I disagree on it being the worst. I think they did a good job of combining the free form experimentation of BotW and TotK with the traditional top down games like the original and LttP. It’s not perfect by any means but I hope they continue to make more with Zelda as the main character.
Oh yeah and anyone who berates and insults you for your opinions on a video game needs to go outside and touch grass.
People are so weirdly defensive, I think one of the most interesting things about talking about games with people is seeing how people have completely different views about stuff. Baffles me how people just want to see their own opinion infinitely repeated back to them. Zelda games are like this weird sacred cow where you can't even constructively criticise anything about them no matter how reasonable it is because people just take it oddly personally
Easy for me to say because I'm not the one getting the abuse, but I honestly wouldn't even give them the energy to address them or clarify things for them, they're not actually interested in having a proper discussion
exactly! i love hearing peoples different opinions on what they like and dont like about things. its crazy people feel like they are being attacked when there is a different opinion in the mix

You're allowed to have your differing opinion. Thanks for doing your part to educate people about how to have civil disagreements. I'm in love with Echoes of Wisdom, but I completely understand how the different battle rhythm would be off-putting to some.
On an unrelated matter, as I'm watching the footage of you speaking I find myself wishing there was a way to make those one-word subtitles go away. They're kind of exhausting to see. I have read somewhere that they help with speed-reading, so I'm not going to knock them completely. Just wish I had a choice to activate or deactivate them. Maybe if I cover the bottom of the screen when I see your videos.

I agree with your perspective. Echos is missing that certain element that makes Zelda Zelda IMO. I’ll pass on buying given it doesn’t make me really excited to play it. I’ll just stick to TOTK in the meantime

Having different opinion does not make you wrong. I love majora's mask but struggle to finish ocarina of time even though ocarina was more beloved/ higher rating.

Dont let these morons put you down. You are correct in your opinion of the game, it is not a good Legend of Zelda game. Its boring and not fun without the sword and shield as you said in your review. They should have had you switch between the characters maybe or just had the game with link as the protagonist. I so badly want a remaster for Link to the past.

It's so easy to hide behind a screen and say things without actually stopping to consider the impact you are making. The fact that anyone thinks this is a worse game than tears of the kingdom or skyward sword, is insane to me.
i wasn’t a big fan of tears either. but at least i had weapons in those games 😂

This is why we can’t have nice things. Most peoples idea of a good video game is “that thing I like but bigger”. I’m so glad Nintendo continues to innovate and try weird experimental ideas and not cave to closed minded people

This is the company that literally refuses to release a sequel unless it has some new game design element or direction that flips the series on its head in someway. That’s why they abandoned ocarina and link to the past clones. Thank god

Also note some of these games are really close together on my rankings and so they may change depending on how I feel about the games in the moment, after concurrent playthroughs, or just if I think about the games in a different light.
I personally enjoy all the Zelda games I’ve played, like with Pokémon, there’s none I dislike or even hate but RUclips comment sections can draw both sane and insane commenters and they can get triggered just by one expressing their opinion even if the reasoning is explained in detail. The internet is so fun, amirite? I really loved the top 10 list after your explanation. Well done!

I have to say, I've been hesitant to buy cause of reviews like this and yours isn't the only one I've seen. I've been waiting to play as Zelda forever and it just seems not as fun in this title. so sad but maybe I'll pick it up later.

The echoes makes even the battles a puzzle game, in a way. I also feel myself missing the classic combat aspect in this game. But I have enjoyed it a lot so far.

My list would be similar to yours, but Breath of the Wild ranking higher, maybe 4th, 5th, or so. And I replayed Twilight Princess last year and was dissapointing, in my childhood memories it was so much better :(

I liked Echoes of Wisdom. Some of it made me mad, mostly because I'm bad at making quick decisions. But just because I liked it doesn't mean I'll be angry at someone else that didn't like it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Also Minish Cap is my favorite game of the Zelda games I've played so far. A lot of them I haven't played because I don't have the console for them. Twilight Princess and Wind Waker are two of my "I want to play now" games but can't.

I loved it, but it's definitely a big difference from others in the series. But, so was BOTW when it came out. I like the old-style dungeon experience and the feeling of excitement to get the next item/echo. I miss that in the new ones. I love BOTW and TOTK, but the breaking items thing annoys me and I don't get the excitement of what gadget am I getting in the next dungeon. TOTK had a bit of that with wondering what the next device would be, but BOTW you just kinda got all the powers off the bat. They definitely need to work on the menu experience in Echoes, though. It was awful.
I freaking love the game, but many other Zelda games outshine it. A game could still be good, just not as good as some others. Plus there's nostalgia, which is hard to beat.

Honestly it's the funko pop/clay artstyle that puts me off. It's too bad they opted for this route but hey, people seem to like hollow face-Link and gang.
With Echoes I don't get why they had to go with a gimmick in her first game when she has so many established powers they could have used as a divine spellcaster. Instead she gets a staff, she is a home decorater and she need to copy big baddies or summon her hero to protect her. Nah this game is not for me.
But, despite all this I get how others can have a lot of fun with it and I will play through it in time.

I just got wisdom of echos and I think it is kind of boring. Finding the echo you need or want is such a pain in the ass. Im trying to like the game it looks good

Most zelda games are great, just be warned botw is a very new and different formula than past games, so you won't find that kind of gameplay outside of it and totk.
I'd personally suggest ocarina of time and wind waker for console and a link to the past and a link between worlds for hand held
My favorite is Twilight Princess and the first one I played was Ocarina.
