Hmm, while I appreciate all the modders who work to keep Rimworld fresh and fun, I think the PLA-Steel implementation of vehicles would have been a better starting point for these over SRTS.
Yeah I do agree, I did Talk to PrinceofPluto about these mods thinking of Pla-steel or even the mechframework being an option to use. He did say making mods is like being a wizard searching an old library to make a new arcane spell. so I don't dare to go into making them but mad respect for those who do :)
I wonder if the devs will create tracks in the world like glitter roads - custom roads are doable, I wonder how to make these tracks usable for trains only..
maybe not interfere with usual caravans speed? and then only speed up trains. I only think the difficult thing would be trains only travelling in railways
Now imagine if we can make a large colonies and have rail lines that will transports tanks and military equipment to one settlement to another. And then if the trains are left vulnerable they get like ambush or someone sabotaging the rails >:0

I can't imagine a mod that would add whole new railway system on the rim with ability to work with factions to connect every settlement to network. With raiders being able to use trains to raid and RimWar making railway damaged or even deleted over faction unrest 😄
This mod could be great, but it looks super janky and it really breaks any sense of realism. If they fix the whole trains flying thing and make it so trains have to be on rails, I think it would be a lot better. Hey Aussie, whenever you get the chance could you do a mod showcase on the Race to the Rim mod? Coupled with the giddy up mod and a couple others it is genuinely one of my favorite mods in rimworld and an amazing tribute to the HTTYD franchise

When Oscar and contributors release the vanilla vehicle mod I expect a lot of ground/sea transport mod to be released using the code as framework As much as I like SRTS its to cheesy and easy to get, tbh the research cost should be tripled and all put at spacer tech level with techprint requirement for the heavy transport one Problem with flying caravan is they miss any event and are 100% risk free as they never get ambushed Problem with vanilla you can barely transport anythign on your caravan and transport animal are more a liability as they get targeted while having no control over them I want to make my long journey through half the planet to reach the space ship or mod "main" quests, but with how faction evolve aroudn me they all starve to death before reaching the nearest neutral/friendly settlement I can trade with even when I load them with food only For those who ask, the first settlement I can trade with would be around 70-130 tiles away
Sorry to say this but it's quite disappointing and seems lazy. I mean it'S EXACTLY like SRTS Expanded if you exchange the sprites for the shuttles with locomotives. I wonder - can you also use the "trains" for bombing?
Hey Testales, Don't be sorry to say it, I understand how you feel. I think this is the first mod they have made. I did talk with them about using different frameworks and they will be working on it the future as this is a passion project for them :)
No worries mate, I didn't really think it was clickbait though :) I mean Rimworld's Good additions only really come from mods and the updates are just frameworks that mods need to be built off :)
Hey I understand how you feel, I think with a different Framework this could work better. I believe this is the modders first mod and it does sound very hard to actually do from what they told me :) I think in the future though this mod will become more realistic :)
