It's 18 plus with no drink in my area. I stopped bothering. Doesn't break my budget but not paying that for a decent burger and not great fries.

@@CoolGaming44i live in a midwest state where most things are extremely cheap compared to other states. Five guys large fry is $7+. That is not cheaper then mcdonald’s. A hamburger is $12, get a medium fry and it’s $5.50 get a regular drink and it’s $3. That is 20.50 per meal. a meal at mcdonald’s is $12 or less. I can go to a fancy and very good italian restaurant for that same price and get 100x more full while having a better experience and extremely better taste. Five guys wants to be a fast food spot, they should not charge restaurant prices when their buying potatoes for DIRT CHEAP, and hamburger for DIRT CHEAP. Their margins on hamburgers and fries are the most in fast food and are INSANE. They buy potato’s and cook them fresh so they SAVE money. also half the fries u get are either way under cooked or burnt.

As a former butcher and someone who enjoys a good steak, just go to a steakhouse at those prices.
Unless they are freshly grinding chuck roasts in the back of the store it's just not worth it; they know that, which is why they give you unlimited potatoes.

I used to work at five guys a few years ago. Legit the CLEANEST place to eat! We make sure that everything, including the grill, is spotless before we close the store.

First time I stopped at a Five Guys I did that. I walked in looked at the prices and said what kind of drugs are they doing here . I thought they charged way too much because I was use to McDonalds prices. But when I went in the next time and decided to give them a try I was very happy with what the food tasted like.

My family has been going to a competitor's mom and pop burger shop once or twice a week for the past 7-8 years. Their food is also fresh products only. After another few years of paying reasonable prices, we're planning on making a trip to five guys with all our savings.

I worked at a 5 Guys for a bit over a year. I love how they cook the food and the quality of the ingredients. The price of the burgers is well worth it. That being said however, if they keep going up in price as they have been the last few years, it is starting to not be worth it.

I find the whole things really funny. I’ve been to five guys a few times but never paid attention to the price. I didn’t think it was that great so I typically avoid their burgers. I wonder if the price contributes to people’s observed quality. I may try a five guys again just to confirm that their burgers are mediocre.
Their fries are awful. Like they don’t wash them properly before deep frying them. They taste like all the starch is still on them.

@@GordonChilthat might be your individual five guys restaurant, because that is one thing five guys usually complemented for the most is their amazing fries, which come in two flavors by the way, and when rated against other restaurants french fries they always rate near the top so there must be something going on at your local restaurant or you're just sensitive to fresh potato taste and are used to the frozen ground-up mashed potato flake-type over processed fries from McDonald's.

Where I live an In N Out and Five Guys is really close together.I just get fries at five guys and the rest at In N Out. Best of both worlds in terms of food and price.

actually, we dont, we separate it. its already sliced, just not pulled apart, so we have to pull each slice and stack them.

I have been to this restaurant many times, the employees are always helpful and friendly, food always served fresh and hot (right of the cooker/grill/fryer).

We had quite a few 5 guys restaurants in my city in very prominent areas. They all went downhill as they were too expensive and always located near cheaper burger places. All they are is smashed burgers on a Blackstone griddle with fries seasoned with McCormick's Gourmet Cajun Seasoning for absurd prices
5 guys is the one place that doesn't trigger my allergies (to food preservatives). Pricey and worth it for me ❤
Funny thing is, It most likely has preservatives in it. Fresh means its not frozen. I can go to Walmart and buy a pound of ground beef that's never been frozen but, my guy, full of all shorts of stuff.

I have trouble with processed food that has high fat content. 5 guys truly doesn't trigger my allergy as Mcdonals and other frozen burgers and sausages do. So no idea so far which is the trigger but it's a problem I have since I moved to the US.

also I just want to say as someone who knows someone else personally that worked at a five guys, their crew puts in WORK. apparently five guys actually hires another company to inspect their stores’ cleanliness, so every night the employees have to clean EVERYTHING. if any amount of dust/dirt/grime could get on it, it had to be cleaned. I’m glad I don’t work there lol their cleanups at the end of the night took them like 2 hrs

My first time at 5 guys, I kind of gawked at the prices. But then i looked over at what other customers were eating and realized the burgers were about the same size as our home made patties (not frozen). Then I realized the drinks were free refills, complimentary free peanuts were everywhere and they had things like jalapeño and mushrooms as topping options. After that I was sold. Not to mention they had about 6 people just working the grills and friers and the cashiers only took orders. They are good and fast which is why the food costs more than a typical chain drive through.
If you go to Five guys once in awhile then the prices are okay. There food is worth the price as a treat or splurge meal.
I never understood companies not using their employees to promote their brand it’s literally an in house marketing team. Give them a lump sum plus a residual. ❤

the biggest issue with knowing prices before going in the first time, is that most companies websites don't tell you the price because it changes from place to place. so, unless you know someone that goes there and they have all the prices and menu memorized, you're out of luck.

I used to work at FG. I’ll never forget my training. “ crispy on the outside mash potatoey on the inside. I remember a secret shopper review I got: “ The best five guys fries I’ve ever had” there’s no pride in the fast food industry.
Fresh doesnt mean anything for those prices. When I worked at McDonald's we cooked patties most every 20 minutes when its not busy at all. If you want a burger that was just cooked go to McDonald's when they're fairly busy and have a mcdouble with fries and a drink for less than $6. Everything was cooked less than 5 minutes before you got there anyway
Really great and much needed video. Extra crispy is not the same as well done. Also you should ask for the burger to be between two round bread objects, don’t say buns
I ate at 5 Guys a week ago. It was good. But not worth the $17.00 and change. The place was dead at 12:30. I can go to In and Out Burger twice for that price. The problem with In and Out is it’s busy as hell inside and 15 to 20 cars in line for the drive through.

Also usually you don't need to order _fresh_ fries or fries without salt to get the freshest stuff. Usually we're always slamming new fries on a nearly empty hot plate.

The burgers and cajin fries are amazing. I only recently tried it after dodging it for years and i was blown away. Its considered fast food but its better than any other chain. People complain about the price but its literally like Jack n the box or Carls junior burger prices if you get one of the specialty burgers. You also get a ton of fries even with the smallest order.
Adding extras to your burgers is FREE. Bacon, cheese, anything. Doesn’t raise the prices at all.
5 guys is a restaurant not a body count goal
He might have said this as well but ALWAYS get the fries. Not only are they delicious but every other item on the menu is slightly raised in price to make up for the extra amount of fries they dump in the bag.
5 guys makes sense when they were mainly in beach towns or near vacation spots. Its a vacation on the go type place.
I worked for 5 guys. Can confirm, everything is fresh. Patties are rolled daily. Potatoes are cut daily. Fries are cooked to order. The cashier checks temps on everything every fucking hour, on the hour. The food might be expensive but man is it worth it.
Their vegetarian option is a bunch of grilled veggies, and its amazing.

Everything at in & out is fresh and they’ve been doing it since the 50s but they don’t charge 13 bucks for a single double cheeseburger. Fresh is no excuse for overcharging

Most Five Guys locations can't make fries right. They can't melt cheese on burger. The burgers are now always small and very overpriced.
