Neptune prop version is a rolling beast compared to the EDF version. Likely since the motor is center to the fuselage. It’s got a good range of speeds. Nice flight!
Depending on geometry. For a flying wing, prop is top dog for speed and agility, BUT, broken props! EDF looks great and no broken props. As for other geometries with EDF, the F22 on 6s is a monster as James showed a few weeks ago in another video. No cons other than you need to be pretty skilled to fly and not a park flyer like this unit that can fit both bills.
I am an RMRC Recruit fan, both sizes are super fun, and with built in stabilizer thats all set up. They fly right out of the box. and once you get the push rods set right they fly perfect without the stab. I like the built in stabilizer because it gets you into the air where you can figure out trims without worrying about crashing at launch. Wings can be extremely unforgiving if they are set up wrong.
Wings are so much fun especially with fpv!! my current fpv wing is a radjet running on 1500 3s I've got some awesome videos with it. Flys just as good inverted!
I just got mine dialed in and I moved the control rods to the middle holes on the servo arms. And limited the throws to 60% and used 30% expo and now it’s a beast. Flies well on a 3s 850, 3s 1400, and going to try the 3s 2200 lipo again now that I have it dialed in. CG is just in front of the Carbon spar
I have Opterra 2m with Spektrum AR637T receiver and avian ESC which has allowed me to setup reverse on the motor - this allows for a steeper and controlled descent and landing with minimal or no "float". I also have Opterra 1.2m with stock power train.
I prefer scale aircraft but have quite often seen people flying various wings, they are now getting more and more common especially with fpv, may need to get myself one soon. great flight even though the launch was a little less than perfect :)
I really love flying wings. I fly all sorts but after getting my first wing a few years ago I now have 7; from the Wing wing Z84 up to an Opterra and a RES dart. I might just add the EDF version of the Neptune some time soon.
The Neptune EDF sold out within a week of the video release, I wonder if this will have the same results. I have 2 FT arrow (one rigged with LED for night flying), UMX Ultrix which is my favorite 1s plane, and the Xvert. (I think I have a couple more wings that I picked up last year right before everything shutdown, and haven't flown them yet) I will be keeping an eye on both of these Neptunes.😉
I have six flying wings including the original Neptune with the ducted fan. The others are the E-flite UMX F-27, E-flite F-27 Evolution, E-flite 2M Opterra, E-flite C-Ray (long discontinued UMX size) and the latest is the Flex Innovations Pirana. I guess I like flying wings. I could probably also include the E-flite Ultrix and X-vert since they are pretty much flying wings.
Yes James, I love flying wings. I own 2 EDF Neptunes. absolutely love it.
GREAT FLIGHT JAMES AND AMAZING FILMING AS ALWAYS ALEX.
Great video guys, nice save at the start James 😃. I think I still prefer the EDF version.

wings can be tricky and they will spin dramatically in one direction because of the prop
hey man could you tell me how long is the flight time and how long would it take to charge the wing's battery ? thanks again man
Those are cool . I bought a Neptune 2 my friend wanted it as soon as I got to the field . He's had a blast with it . Easy launch great to fly .
Its nice to see these back, there was a lack of decent wings for a while.
I enjoy racing these with friends. The Neptune I (EDF) is fun for cruising, while the Neptune II (prop) is fun for tight, turning race circuits.

I have 2 now and had 3 total ,I love them ❤
I love the sound of a flying wing!!!
Good job, James
Nice little flyer

Very nice , as you stated add a gyro and it's locked in 👍🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞Heat Wave 🌞🌞🌞🌞🎬🎥✔ I have a Opterra 2.0

Reminds me of the old E-flite F-27. I used to have a lot of fun flying that plane.
I have both size Opterra's. I love the Safe & folding prop
James, tks.
this reminds me of a wing my buddy and i use to chase eachother with FPV in realflight

Wow i didnt know it was a prop plane too! Hope you loved my F-104 project...
On my second on out of 12 wings. So much fun screamer
Plastic on the nose & bottom really is Interesting
nice wing : )

Have you flown it in strong wind. I think it should handle it ok. How strong of a wind do you think this could handle.
When is there a viggen coming?
THANKS.........................! thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have this in my cart now. But I think I may need a gyro. I'm not good with wings. Especially the launch
Will one day include a wing in my hanger
Have still the edf Version and Take it tomorrow to the field about the video
You need to slip , slop , slap !
👍
