Who knew how relatable this would be in 2020?
She is amazing. Beside the Coronavirus, many struggling have already been in front of us we just kept ignoring them.
Who’s here watching this during quarantine?
Takes my breath away. A knot in my throat. My brain blown. Connected.
@marcy~ it's an ill wind that blows no minds~ from the Sufi🕊️
This makes me cry every single time i hear it again nd i have no idea why😭
Because a lot of it is true?
Kate Tempset ,we love you....shine on.Shine On.

I just discovered Kate today... So grateful for her moving words
Even when I'm weak and I'm breaking ill stand weeping at the Train Station
Brilliant! Thank you!
Thank you Kate, so beautiful, you capture the truth, with so much feeling and empathy - you give hope. Thank you!
This is the first time I have heard Kate Tempest -Peoples Faces. It is a poem selected to study in my university course in Australia. I found listening to this spoken word as an almost religious experience. It is beautifully melancholic.
I literally almost stopped on an interstate highway the frost time I heard this song. My Mantra.
we love you Kae
As a nurse, I find these words very profound and needed right now. Xxx
Thank you Kate, I weep every time I listen, it is so achingly honest, and achingly beautiful. I hear you! Thank you
The second I heard this on that Facebook ad I had chills, thank you so much... and stay safe everyone!
Stay safe as well buddy @Josiah
this is a Historical moment for the entire world
so many affected
Can't stop listening to this.. And don't know why...
That voice....
It’s because it’s so awesome. Awesome things do that
Same!! I shared this video with family & friends! I saw the short commercial on t.v. & am proud of Facebook for promoting her!
Me too😌😌
Why does this make me cry??😔😔😔💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏
This makes me weep EVERY SINGLE TIME 🥲😢🥺🥰
So wonderful.
This kills me - brilliant.
They won't stop playing this at my work as part of a safety video. It's on a constant loop inside the bathrooms.
Thank you❤
Why do my eyes keep tearing up!?
This is deep...
Me too😥😥😥
Yep every time.
Digs deep inside every soul.
Empaths united
From a 54 year old bloke, this is all enveloping, and stops me still each time I hear it ! Thanks!
From a 25 year old man, may we ever-hold our common tongues aloft in poetic peasant pride.
They remind me of the lyrical genius and political awareness of Chuck-D. Chuck-D made me feel the same awareness as a much younger man and Kae Tempest makes me feel the same way, we all need to check ourselves and move in a better direction....
I've got 21 years on you ☺☺ and it has the same effect on me. Wonderful...
57 year old fart here, killing time in Canada, and I completely agree. Cheers to you, boxingday11.
first heard this on radio, was interview with new yorker radio program brilliant, they closed the interview with 'peoples faces' when the song/lyrics ended, i shut my radio off, quiet.i didnt want anything to pollute my ears after hearing her, this made me cry & im a 60 yr old guy, so yeah, stopped me in my tracks, blows my mind when people dont get her. in synchroni-city, has anybody here heard of Chelan Harkin? i'd start with her poem" the worst thing we ever did" would love if Kae could hear that one too .🔑💘🔓pass it on, C
Incredible listening to this given the few years and many events we've had since it's recording.
I've listened to this a dozen times, and it moves me every time. She is wonderful.
Same. Agreed.
Same ♾
I absolutely love this,
Wow, just WOW. Thank you Kate.
Your beautiful poetry & music resonates every day ... every new social horror we experience. Thank you.
When I feel really down about it all, I remember her advice: "there is so much peace to be found \ in people's faces"
Kate Tempest is incredible, stops me in my tracks every time I listen to this, wish more of society would have the same perspective as Kate
I can feel things changing too. It’s been a long time since this song was new, but I now fear for my son’s future, because the world has gone crazy. We had challenges and yet… here we are. Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.
Beautiful words needed during this COVID-19 crisis. Bravo.
Streatham woz ere... Keep your heads and faces up, people, wherever in the world you are.

Just lovely....
Feeling like the person we could be it really isn't us like we buckle underneath the trouble like any minute now the struggle is gonna finish us
"Is a life well lived or is a life well displayed?" Damn, Kae
Incredible talent
Right on the money as usual !x...
oh more just more
The struggle is going to finish us...always thinking we coukd be so much better bigger more loving more forgiving more face to face more living more holding hands and breathing as we gaze upon our brothers and sisters believing every change we need to see in this world is already in us this moment what are we waiting for another golden idol to worship no more...what we want what our souls cry out for longingly isnt something you can buy no matter how many hours you plow the taskmasters field that will never yield anything that could ever feed a soul...the greedy think it will for where there should be a heart and soul there is a vast and bottomless pitiful hole. No one said it was going to be easy because no one dared scream out enough no one wanted to call their bluff but even the homeless have more honor than those who seat themselves upon a golden thrown wear a bejeweled crown and inside their hearts a rotten cauldron of the screams wailing and blood shed sorrow anguish and all things that touched the good so long ago..not by holding the essence squeezimg the very spirit of good men can you fill your greedy cups and gobble and pour their purity down your dusty throats mercy turns each drop to dust and stardust just out of reach every loving kiss you stole a snowflake disappearing the moment you spot it...the sound of laughter innocence and life instant silence your thieving ears may hear but you have jo heart fir listening no soul for feeling or keeping near and no conscience for recalling happy memory for you have none.you are void...yet u rule us...why is this?
BEst Poem 2019, IMHO

Who the deck thumbs down this?!!!! 🤯
"was that a pivotal historical moment we just went stumbling past?"
Up there with Dylan and Van Morrison nobody comes near!
Yes, but words for the 21st century.
[Verse 1]
It’s coming to pass, my countries coming apart
The whole thing’s becoming such a bumbling farce
Was that a pivotal historical moment we just went stumbling past?
Well, here we are, dancing in the rumbling dark
So come a little closer, give me something to grasp
Give me your beautiful, crumbling heart
Another disaster, catharsis
Another half-discarded mirage
Another mask slips
I face off with the physical
My head’s ringing from the love of the stars
There is too much pretense here
Too much depends on the fragile wages
And extortionate rents here
We’re working every dread day that is given us
Feeling like the person people meet really isn’t us
Like we’re gonna buckle underneath the trouble
Like any minute now, the struggle’s going to finish us
And then we smile at all our friends
[Refrain]
It’s hard, we got our heads down and our hackles up
Our backs against the wall, I can feel you aching
None of this was written in stone
There is nothing we’re forbidden to know
And I can feel things changing
Even when I’m weak and I’m breaking
I’ll stand weeping at the train station
‘Cause I can see your faces
There is so much peace to be found in people’s faces
[Verse 2]
I saw it roaring
I felt it clawing at my clothes like a grieving friend
It said there are no new beginnings
Until everybody sees that the old ways need to end
But it’s hard to accept that we’re all one and the same flesh
Given the rampant divisions between oppressor and oppressed
But we are, though
More empathy, less greed, more respect
All I’ve got to say has already been said
I mean, you heard it from yourself
When you were lying in your bed and couldn’t sleep
Thinking, "Couldn’t we be doing this differently?"
I’m listening to every little whisper in the distance singing hymns
And I can, I can feel things changing
[Refrain]
But it’s so hard, we got our heads down and our hackles up
Our backs against the wall, I can feel your heart racing
None of this was written in stone
The currents fast, but the river moves slow
And I can feel things changing
Even when I’m weak and I’m breakin'
I stand weeping at the train station
‘Cause I can see your faces
There is so much peace to be found in people’s faces
[Verse 3]
It’s not enough
To imagine we’ll be happy when we’ve got enough stuff
All this stuff is blocking us
I’m neat with no chaser
I’m all spirit, but I’m sinking
'Cause the days are not days but strange symptoms
And this age is our age
But our age is rage sinking to beige
And yes, our children are brave
But their mission is vague
Now I don’t have the answers
But there are still things to say
I stare out at my city on another difficult day
And I scream inwardly, "When will this change?"
I’m beginning to fade
But my sanity’s saved ‘cause I can see your faces
My sanity’s saved ‘cause I can see your faces
[Refrain]
It’s hard, we got our heads down and our hackles up
Our backs against the wall, I can feel your heart racing
None of this was written in stone
The current’s fast but the river moves slow
And I can feel things changing
Even when I’m weak and I’m breaking
I stand weeping at the train station
‘Cause I can see your faces
I love people’s faces
Andy Egan says it all, doesn’t it?
Thank you
Andy Egan Thank you. ❤️
Andy Egan Thank you for writing down the words to this absolutely beautiful piece of work 🙂
thank you for posting this!
2020 first music is here
One day I'm just feeding on the daily dose of RUclips candy and then find myself on the side of the road. Flat tire, don't care, call work and quit after 13 years. Even freedom is an iceberg you must appreciate from the obvious to the hidden and forbidden. And it's a stranger who cut you loose and you'll love them but they cannot hear.
Poetry!!
