    I suggest that whenever you removed any part from system first you have to remove all power resources from the System and Motherboard (power resource = Battery + Adapter/Charger)

      For this particular L480 (I suppose it should work with other lenovo systems as well), you can also turn it off in BIOS. Once you're done, plug the A/C back in. You can google "Disabling built-in battery" for lenovo systems for the instructions, pretty neat.

    Buen aporte, hice el cambio de hdd a ssd pero al querer instalar windows 10 no me reconoce la usb como booteable tiene algún tutorial de como instalar el sistema operativo mi laptop es thinkpad e490

      hidro rayo Hola! No tengo pero si quieres hacerlo bien bájate una ISO de Windows 10 y booteala con Rufus. Es muy fácil y hay miles de tutorial es en RUclips. Saludos!

      @@groundingtiming Bit late but just do it the old fashioned way. Transfer the data to an external hard drive and transfer it back once it's installed.

      Based on the video, the unit has only 1 slot for Storage (SSD/HDD). You may use the old one as an external storage device.
