Fun fact about my life: One night in my small town, our warning siren (2001-130) went odd at around 3:00AM. It was storming HARD outside. To the point where even the 'smallest' shocks of lightning lit up the entire sky. I was young, a kid. Our only access to our basement was outside. So me, my parents and my older brother went outside. Note that we live RIGHT next to that siren. So when we went outside, we were immediately drenched, and the siren was VERY loud. We ran inside of the basement. At times the sirens would shut off and when we'd think we were safe and got out, it immediately started again. The tornado was actually there, but it wasn't in our town. I had actually studied tornadoes a lot as a kid. But I have anxiety, too. So that entire time we were in the basement. I was having an anxiety attack. Fortunately everything was ok. But I stayed up several nights after that day. And whenever our town blares that siren as a test (they test the tornado siren every month) I would immediately feel the instinct to run to the basement. Every time I get shivers just at the sounds of the tests. But, everything was ok and no damage was done other than my huge fear of tornadoes. 😅
I remember just a few weeks ago a storm hit Kitchener the town I live in everything was horrible an you know what win speed was at 40mph its crazy no sirens wow

We had nuclear sirens in our town because of our nuclear plant, my dad always joked and said “If that plant were to have a meltdow, it really should just say ‘YOOOUUUURRRRREEE SCREEEEEEEEWWWWWEEDD’ and we would even know if it exploded because we would be vaporized instantly”
