How dare you blame the guns. Whether armed civilians or police officer, it was firearms that saved lives that would have otherwise been taken. The other way to deal with a rabid animal is to use what ever means necessary to stop the threat. As long as criminals have firearms (and they always will) the citizenry must be able to defend themselves.
