I really appreciate this video. This is the second time I watch this before I made a decision on what to vote on for the propositions. There were some I already knew exactly what the vote on but there were some I just needed to hear about Again by watching this video before making a decision. Just two of the propositions I haven't decided on yet, but I'll research those two specific ones in greater detail and then decide
I voted no on to because well honestly there are some things I will vote Yes on but it's just I don't like the idea of the state having to borrow and then pay this off over 35 years. This could go wrong in so many ways. The education system should always be improved but I think there's a better way to do it
Did you see who support the proposition? This measure is supported by education consulting and construction companies. The biggest donors are the California Building Industry Assn. with nearly $2.5 million and the California Teachers Assn. with $2.1 million
Only Yes I am willing to fund in this economy is increase minimum wage, and allow same sex marriage amendment. People are struggling.. to pay anymore taxes ..is an absolute NO! These funds have zero impact on the interest of our children, and working families. We don’t need better Air conditioning in school, we need parents that are able to be home and do homework, put kids in sports. A bandaid on deep societal issues that require repair from the roots.
How do people think the government at this current moment, especially in California, would provide a single tax increase that would help those they claim to? Have you gone outside? Downtown Sacramento, SF, LA, are in shambles
Thanks for this. My daughter is voting for the very first time and she's excited. Videos like these are really helping her make her decisions on the ballot. Very simple and to the point explanations.
As of 5 nov 2024 Proposition 2- Bonds for School and College Facilities: Approved Proposition 3- Constitutional Right to Marriage: Approved Proposition 4- Bonds for Water, Wildfire Prevention, Climate Protection: Approved Proposition 5- Local Bonds for Affordable Housing with 55% Approval: Rejected Proposition 6 - Eliminates Involuntary Servitude for Incarcerated Persons: Rejected Proposition 32- Raises Minimum Wage to $18 by 2026: Rejected Proposition 33 - Expands Local Authority for Rent Control: Rejected Proposition 34 - Prescription Drug Revenue Spending Restrictions: Approved Proposition 35 - Permanent Funding for Medi-Cal Health Services: Approved Proposition 36 - Increases Penalties for Certain Drug and Theft Crimes: Approved
No on 2 because we keep voting to give money to the schools for repairs and updates. So many people buy lottery tickets to support schools. This money would go to support a broken system.
🆘️ In California, we are voting for propositions and measures that have 4️⃣7️⃣0️⃣ NEW TAXES built into them! Please look at the CA voters guide here on Y.T. from the Reform California Organization. They address each one and advise if it would raise our taxes. VOTE EARLY 🗳
It was 2008 when prop 8 passed. I was surprised even back then because it seemed like it was going to totally fail but somehow it passed. There are areas of California that are not as progressive. They don't have their voices heard as much but I guess there were enough people in the areas that are more progressive and maybe the more progressive areas weren't as progressive at the time that somehow prop 8 had actually succeeded. It's been a long time but if I remember correctly I think it barely passed.
@@Sly88FryeI think part of the reason was that the phrasing on the measure was confusing, like you had to vote yes to outlaw it but many thought it was yes to allow it.
@@ilikespaghetti4458 it was absolutely intentionally confusing. they figured more people were simply stupid than homophobic and they were correct. any measure that intends to step on the rights of the people by the right or the rich are rarely straightforward.
when it comes to average joe landloards why would you make more laws my dad had to sell all is property because of the current laws and go BK renters didnt have to pay rent or move out without 20-40K payment. ive learned never buy property for investment in cali ever again. But that leaves only the big corps to buy which happend to my dad 2 unit apartment which was only 1K for the big unit and 850 for the smaller one, 3 bedroom vs 2 bedroom plus space the buyer now charges 3K for the big one and 2500 for the small one.
i remember same sex marriage was already legal in California because everyone in my town made a big fuss about it passing with one of the big realistate agents paying for a billboard to be posted for a month saying thank you for the right to express are love which made a quite a rift, even the news covered it but I'm thinking now im living in a different time line cuz WTF!!!!
Prop 3 says it removes the language in the California constitution stating that marriage is only between a man and a woman. It would make same sex marriage an actual part of the constitution. It would also remove Prop 8 banning same sex marriage. This would mean it can't be voted out by the courts.
This doesn't really clear things up. For example when they were talking about same-sex marriages, she was using the same terminology that they use in the books, not really breaking it down so by the time she finished talking about the same sex thing it was kind of confusing. We need a video that breaks everything down slowly and in layman terms. And I still using the same terminologies.
Voted "no" for all, it's a shame that we have no more imagination than just wasting more money and increasing the chaos, nothing related to homelessness, crime, commuting, limiting garbage/toxic food, promoting remote working (to reduce the carbon footprint, dem-cultists?), healthy lifestyles, etc. No real problem-solving suggestions. SHAME
You will vote to raise state minimum wage to $27 an hour and minimum of 6 months of work until employer fires or lays you off or they still have to pay the employees. Get the greedy fast food companies to pay up!!
💥BOMBSHELL REPORT from the Transparency Foundation calculates that the total higher costs paid by Californians versus national averages comes to upwards of $28,037 per year! It includes national averages for housing, utilities, food, gas, transportation, healthcare, insurance, childcare, and taxes. Let's vote 🆘️ Red down the ballot‼️
Good overview even though a lot of bias was included. Bottom line anyone who really wants to help California should be absolutely says Nell No to 2 thru 34 and yes on 35/36. This is completely obvious unless you have been mislead.
Actually the way they explained it was very impartial. I think you're just forcing your biases on to everybody. And seriously you think no on three? Do you have any idea how many state economies actually benefited from allowing gay marriage before it became Federal? You'd have to be an idiot or homophobic to be against the prop 3. I did vote no on two though because I don't like the idea of the state borrowing money and having to wait 35 years to pay it off. We have so many debts and taxes as it is.
You don’t want to pay more in taxes but you want to put more people in prison for petty theft and drug possession? How much fucking evidence do we need that none of that has literally ever worked? How much more? How many more studies do they need to do before you understand that harsher punishments do NOT STOP PEOPLE FROM USING DRUGS??? Are you like actually stupid?
Talk about bias on prop 3. Did not explain the no campaign at all. Their main criticism of the amendment is that it does not include language specifically prohibiting marriage of minors or inces.t. or for marriages between more than 2 people at once. The vauge amendment opens the door for all of these. You guys give journalism a bad name, please do better.
It does not do that. It will have no change on who can marry in California currently. What you're claiming is recycled baseless propaganda brought to you by 2000s gay marriage opponents, it didn't happen in the decade it's been legal and it won't now. If you're really concerned about children marrying maybe focus on red states where that is an actual problem.
