The song is about the loss of a friend, the guy with dark curled hair wrote the song for his best friend and cousin who died young. The singer in the clip is covering it.
The tearing up of Sarita and Blanks is logical, Blanks recently had one of his friends die suddenly, and Sarita's fiance was murdered a few months before this recording. YOu can imagine a song about how everything turns to grey when you lose a close friend hits them especially hard.
