The kid sitting on his bed surrounded by garbage reminds me of my how my two ex step sons lived. No sheets on their beds, all of their belongings on the floor (not soda cans). It was unbelievable. They never changed into pajamas, just went to bed in the clothes they wore that day and sometimes they didn't remove their shoes. Their bathroom didn't have any soap in it, no toothbrushes, nothing but a role of toilet paper and the top of the toilet tank was missing. They were being raised by their father who let them do whatever they wanted. All that changed after I moved in. The kids were still slobs and they probably still are even though they're grown. I lasted less than four years with that family.

@@miriamharkai3686 This was way back in the 90's. I got out and never went back. Don't feel sorry for me though. I sort of knew what I was getting into at the time. It's all in the past.
My ex married someone else and she has a bunch of kids and they both have a ton of grand kids.
@@anonymousstrangeness7348 Yeah it was a toxic relationship. Even though my ex and I loved each other, he couldn't understand why I didn't love his kids. I tried to get along with them but my ex wouldn't allow me to tell them what to do. There was a lot of arguing.
I was not the best parent to my own kids but my ex was a complete failure and I think he knew it. He couldn't cope with his failures.
I have a story similar to that, but it wasn't bad, just funny! When my now fiance and I first became boyfriend and girlfriend, in college, I went over to his dorm room, one night after dinner. He had a roommate (who is a sweetheart) who was pretty much involved in every organization on campus.
The dorm rooms had two beds, two chests of drawers, and two large desks, in one big room. There was a clear divide between my fiance's side of the room and his roommate's side. His roommate had every available inch, including on top of his bed, piled, halfway to the ceiling with laundry detergents, books, notebooks, paper, pens, pencils, soaps, shampoos, plates, clothes, towels, toilet paper, etc. If you can imagine an entire household worth of stuff, that is what he had crammed and piled into his 5 foot wide space!
The polar opposite of that was: this guy was extremely neat in his appearance. His clothes looked very nice and were never wrinkled, he wore a neatly tied bow tie, a lot of the time, his hair was perfect, his socks seemed to be ironed, his shoes were shiny, and his teeth were a blinding white!

I wonder at taking a photo before helping the kid. As parents, I think most of us at one point or another want to throw a kid throw a window or something. The point is not to do that, to learn and cope. I think most parents have to learn this lesson. I know I did / do.
Wear gloves or hold the gas pump handle with a paper towel. People are nasty REAL nasty and you don't want their germs on you.
Or buy an all electric car. 6 solar panels on my roof and be it's FREE and you don't have to visit nasty gas stations.
