I've doing parallette hspu for the last 2 years because of a wrist injury that doesn't let me press with my palms, and I can agree with you 100% regarding how much harder it is

I like crossfit, but man i hate how we do hspu in crossfit😅 banana shaped back, short range of motion. Hitting and banging that head to the floor while trying to go faster becouse its a for time or amrap training. Just like Craig showed so much harder already if ur hands are ”further” and not directly by your side of the shoulders its gets harder. Now if u would the hspu face facing the fall on parallets aiming ur head further where ur hands are thats when they get though and ur really building that strenght. or do it freestanding like gymnastics. Really,nobody is doing hspu like crossfitter in a real gymnastics gym. Not hating just saying. i also used to do hspu like this few years and i wish somebody would have told me to do them this way as i described. Would have saved ton of time
