    Such beautiful stitching. I love all the pieces. I stitch on one piece for as much as a month (but still do several smalls while I am working on the one piece) but more often than not I stitch a dozen or so pieces in a week. It is a mood thing, too. After all, it is art. OUR ART. Take care.

    Hello from NC Vicki! Always so nice to “visit”. Always such a treat to look at your beautiful stitching…just gorgeous. Thank you so much for pulling it all out for us…sorry your back is bothering you. I can relate, at night when I stitch, I have my heating pad on lowest setting to ease off my back..works like a charm. I do so enjoy your recommendations on thread and fabric. If you have a favorite needle, would love to hear about it. Thanks again for all you do.

    Hi Vicki I love seeing all your WIP's and new starts. You always do beautiful stitching in your projects and I love the patterns you choose and do. I have a few on my wishlist. In July I did Christmas and thank you for the nice comments when I sent you what I did in July. That was very sweet of you. In October I think I may do Halloween projects because I have a lot of WIP's on Halloween. I went to Stichery X-Press which is only 5 minutes away from my home and I went there for the first time because Brenda for Handworkmanic went there and loved the store and I didn't know it existed. All I can say is WOW!!!! This store is amazing in one room alone is material and she has old and current patterns from a to z, Guess where I will be shopping. I told Brenda when she goes there again to let me know so I could meet her. Every Saturday they have from 10am to 6pm come stitch and shop. l have never had anyone to stitch with and this will be fun to meet people who have the same interest in cross stitching as I do. I always look forward to watching your channel you are such an inspiration to me Vicki. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless
    Pat

    Hi Vickie. I am a long time watcher of your videos and enjoy them very much! I also stitch 2 handed and I have a tip for you. A long time ago I saw Vonna give a tip that changed my stitching forever!! She said to lead with the eye of the needle when you are coming up from the back. Then the thread does not twist as much and the needle is in the right position to just put it back through from the front. It truly was a game changer for me! Also please tell us how to spell your name. I see it a variety of ways!!

    • @thevirginiastitcher
      @thevirginiastitcher  29 дней назад

      I did see Vonna’s video about it and tried it. I felt like it slowed me down but I am sure with practice I could get faster. She is such a prolific stitcher and finisher.
      Happy stitching

    Lol, I was born and raised in Maine and you have me over here saying "lobster" in the Maine accent. My husband is looking at me funny, Haha! I never did acquire the accent and people have actually accused me of lying about my Maine heritage because I don't sound like I'm from there. We recently just moved from the Maine to Virginia and I miss it.

    Vicky, I am really enjoying seeing your 62 starts, thanks for taking us along on that journey with you!! I love that Christmas Bells piece, I have it too and seeing yours really makes me want to pull mine out and get it started!! That project bag your (other) viewer made for you is truly stunning and I love coffee, and I have some coffee fabric too, I just have to get up the courage to start sewing. So, your retreat mat -- I was thinking of making some as table gifts for a retreat in October (using my coffee fabric), I was going to use Jessica, the Sweetwater Stitcher's tutorial, hers are about 16x16, would you mind sharing the size of yours? Of course I can just go to the Etsy shop, never mind! Jessica's have the pockets at the bottom and you can hang them off the table if you prefer, or turn the mat and have them (there are 3) along the side. I was also thinking of a cherry blossom theme since the treat is out of town and it would be a DMV type of theme.... Yours is beautiful!! Oh. My. Goodness! That hanging organization idea is genius!! Thanks for passing that along!! And thank you for talking about keeping stitches neat. I have had a terrible time on one particular project lately and I think of you and that tutorial every time I get frustrated -- and I use your twisting idea religiously!

    • @thevirginiastitcher
      @thevirginiastitcher  27 дней назад

      Have fun on your retreat! The stitching mat I have is about 16” x 14” (I believe). I am not in my craft room at the moment. The 16”x 16” mat should be a nice size.
      Happy stitching and sewing!

    Hey Vicky another great floss tube. I just love looking at the patterns and fabrics that you choose. I also am an Ada stitcher so I appreciate seeing what all the patterns look like on Ada. You’re doing a great job… just wondering would you mind sharing the dimensions of the stitch mat that you received and the measurements for the ort container as well? I’ve been wanting to make a stitch Matt but because I’ve never been to a retreat so I don’t know what size to make and I love the look of the one that you received I hope that’s alright to share, the measurements of both those two things would be great thanks so much Jenny Melbourne Australia 💚

      I would recommend size 26 needles. They are a little bigger but work for 16 count Aida. I have been buying Piecemakers.
