Is it possible to add this silent function kit to an existing C6 Yamaha grand piano?
Yamaha does not make a silent kit for their pianos however, QRS and PianoDisc both make silent retrofit kits for almost any piano.

Is this available on the GC1 model?
Yes! The GC1 is available in as a Silent piano. The model is now called a GC1SC3 since Yamaha has recently upgraded the new Silent systems now featuring Bluetooth and other improvements.

no thats what an midi keyboard is for

Yes it does! The way this piano works is by capturing every nuance of key movements which it sent via midi to Yamaha's sampled sounds which you hear back through the headphones. A USB midi out connector is on the piano to be able to plug it into your computer for use with notation software and/or apps on your smart devices.
