As a broke college kid, I basically live through videos from your channel and other such channels. I'm really excited to see this update. I remember seeing that video when I started college, and it's super cool to see an update! Thank you so much for all your videos!
The skunks have grown quite large in the last 2 years!! Thanks for all the videos and live streams!!! Love all the content you put out and how you put it out!!
They look awsome. I remember watching that vid when it came out and was so cool.. still cool to see today. Man time flies.. Thank you for all your awsome videos!!!
Seriously you have the prettiest saltwater tank I've seen on RUclips. It is so cool and the corals are gorgeous and really go together with all the fish. I love it (and want it 😫😫)
Stumbled about this video by accident, such a beautiful reef. We have a 400 gallons here but it looks nothing like yours. It's funny because amongst all my reef buddies, noone can say "anemone" properly; everyone says " anenemy" for whatever reason. Must be a reef guys thing.
Good video! I currently don't operate an aquarium but in the 180 we had previously for many years we had a giant anemone like that and a group of skunk clowns similar to yours. I always enjoyed them....they seem to be much calmer, carefree, and less aggressive towards each other and my hand if I had to reach in the tank to move something as other breeds. In my experience the Calrkii clowns seem to really have a horrible despise for my hand and loved to attack me....lol.
Time really flies. Like the update. Btw even though I was the first to add a ticket to the raffle at macna for the sump you made I did not win but it was good to actually meet you.
Great follow-up video! I've been wondering about those little Clownies. Nice to hear they are thriving...and some are possibly prepping to lay their own eggs! (fingers crossed). I hadn't heard of the Harem concept before...I always learn something from your videos, even when I'm not trying....Thanks for the great update!
Would love to see a video about your specific fish and what challenges you may have had with them. And what order they need to be added to the tank, which fish to avoid etc.
They can be tiny and still beautiful. Look at Nano Reef tanks in Google for inspiration. Just keep in mind that smaller systems are usually harder to maintain stable water quality. Things change rapidly in such tanks.
@@mohitmorris Lol but he wasn't even saying it like that though, he was pronouncing it as, "anenome." I swear trying to remember the real spelling and pronunciation on my own after reading this and watching the video... I came up with some pretty weird shit. 😂🌊🐠🐚🐟🐙🐡💦
Big sebae anemones can be a pain if they don't stay in place and end up stinging your corals. I thought that the chalice coral was really beautiful. Is the coral at the top left side of the tank alive (staghorn?)?
Great update, I was wondering about them. Looking forward to the live stream. I am in Australia so I'm not sure what time it will be on here? Thanks Melev!😊
2 p.m. is the time that works best for me, and leaves me the afternoon / evening to get other things done. It's going to be hard to match everyone's schedule globally. Fortunately, the stream becomes a video you can watch later.
I was glad to hear a Pro say you have trouble pronouncing the word "anemone". I did too, until I figured out a way to say it right: - - - - A-NE-money $$$$$$
melevsreef ocellaris clowns. I've had these clowns in my 20 gallon for 3 years and the anemone is just 3 weeks old. I can't catch the clowns without removing everything and I don't wanna do that
Hey Mark , you mentioned in the video that Skunks can shoal/harem with 1 anemone. Can nemos (oscellaris) also shoal/harem in 1 anemone ? I’m think of getting 5 tho , not 11 like ur crazy ass
melevsreef Thx , Interesting .... But like what happens afterward in 2-3 years ? I have a 250 gallon display tank , so removing the rocks to catch them is not an option ...
There is a risk in adding them with a tube: if the slime coat is damaged the clownfish will be stung. This is likely to happen when the fish has been handled, stressed of is sick.
Yes, typically clownfish learn their anemone's sting, primarily via taste. You'll see them suck on some tentacles if you watch closely. These fish were in the Peacemaker for three days prior to being introduced into the anemone (and the entire reef), and it worked out amazingly well.
Wow I guess it has been a long time! After a few months the first one came out i was in the hobby! Lol great little vid to remember back to my freshman year of highschool! Lol
This was the follow up. I think there were a few close ups in this one, as well as some stills. But you can see those fish in the 6 year anniversary video nicely. ruclips.net/video/Is2sCNFPB_0/видео.html
Great video buddy 👌 always love watching your videos as you give alot of good information. Could you check out my Reeftank it's still early days but I love it more and more each day 😊
melevsreef no by the female..he's lucky to eat..I try to feed them when their separated...she attacks him when it's feeding time..otherwise they for the most part get along
I disagree. Originally I thought you were commenting on a different video where I mispronounced it repeatedly, but in this video I made the mistake once. I’m human, I get to make the occasional mistake.
Those probably aren't even the real clowns, those are new skunk stunk clowns that you ordered just for this video… LOL(FYI, I've seen this tank for the last 1 1/2 years on at least a weekly basis and can attest they are in fact the same clowns.)
I love how the previous video lead me straight to this update. Great job!
Me too!

I love to see people doing what they love. That tank is outstanding
That clownfish vid was my first of your channel. So cool to see what your tank/reef is now
The skunks have grown quite large in the last 2 years!! Thanks for all the videos and live streams!!! Love all the content you put out and how you put it out!!
I remember that bid. Congrats on 600k views. Glad to see it worked.

Nice update Mark. I remember watching the video when you first posted it. I'm glad they are all still doing so well. Keep the updates coming
Happy to hear that all worked out! Almost time for the next update can't wait!
Am lucky, I didn't have to wait 2.5years for the update, I watched both videos today, and am happy that it was a success
Hello from Brazil. This is the best aquarium I have ever seen.
Beautiful and relaxing, it seems the anemone has grown considerably from the first video.
Yes, it's probably 24" in diameter these days.
What kind is it
i find it easier to just say "any money?" real fast. great tank. great info sharing.
Stumbled about this video by accident, such a beautiful reef. We have a 400 gallons here but it looks nothing like yours.
It's funny because amongst all my reef buddies, noone can say "anemone" properly; everyone says " anenemy" for whatever reason. Must be a reef guys thing.
Clownfish harems are possible in other species including ocelaris, you just have to add them at the same time when they are young preferably.
Good video! I currently don't operate an aquarium but in the 180 we had previously for many years we had a giant anemone like that and a group of skunk clowns similar to yours. I always enjoyed them....they seem to be much calmer, carefree, and less aggressive towards each other and my hand if I had to reach in the tank to move something as other breeds. that anemone is amazing to watch. I am so fascinated with reef tanks and so want to learn more and have one in the future.
I love to hear that. I think running a reef tank is a wonderful hobby.
Time really flies. Like the update. Btw even though I was the first to add a ticket to the raffle at macna for the sump you made I did not win but it was good to actually meet you.
+Arrick L The winner had a car, making it easy to take it home. Did you have a good MACNA?
Yes was the first one so I was in reef overload lol. Will definitely go again
Great follow-up video! I've been wondering about those little Clownies. Nice to hear they are thriving...and some are possibly prepping to lay their own eggs! (fingers crossed). The reef has changed so much in 2 years :)
Thank you so much for the update! I don't know much about clownfish, but I was worried about those little guys and am relieved they are doing well :D
I can't believe it's been that long they are super cool.
Great video and no annoying music ha ha . I didn't realise the original Clownfish one was over 2 Years old. Good channel
Glad you liked the follow up video better. 👍🏻
Would love to see a video about your specific fish and what challenges you may have had with them. And what order they need to be added to the tank, which fish to avoid etc.
Please say something about cannister filter media for a nano reef tank.. In your today's live stream.
A brief update on all the tanks would awesome! Thank you for taking the time to upload.
+Daniel Yepez Coming soon. First have to cover MACNA from last weekend.
I hope to one day own my own Coral tank... What Liter size is the lowest you would recommend for a Coral tank?
They can be tiny and still beautiful. Look at Nano Reef tanks in Google for inspiration. Just keep in mind that smaller systems are usually harder to maintain stable water quality. Things change rapidly in such tanks.
@@melevsreef ooh i love the idea of a nanotank! Thanks for the suggestion
one of the best looking tank /community fish ever!!!!
Congrats Melevsreef on hitting that many view like your channel
they seem to be adjusting well to the tank.
Please do more vids on the anemone and clowns, like once a month. And what happened to the cube tank? Please update.
I will very soon, probably sometime next week.
I have been waiting for this video!
2 years down... so much has changed. Except the way you say.... "anemone"!!!! :D
I've been practicing. hehe
The funny thing is. After seeing the video, I too was pronouncing it "AMENONE" for the next few minutes!!! :)
hahaha, it's contagious.
@@mohitmorris Lol but he wasn't even saying it like that though, he was pronouncing it as, "anenome." I swear trying to remember the real spelling and pronunciation on my own after reading this and watching the video... I came up with some pretty weird shit. 😂🌊🐠🐚🐟🐙🐡💦

Yes it is.
Enjoyed the small update and love your big anemone :)
those clown fishes all stay on that small area around that plant? the dont move around?
This was so rewarding to watch .... your tank is delightful 😍
Hard to believe it's been 2.5 years!
Great update, I was wondering about them. Looking forward to the live stream. I am in Australia so I'm not sure what time it will be on here? Thanks Melev!😊
If you did your stream at 4pm it would be 6am Australia, 9pm England. So it says on the converter.
2 p.m. is the time that works best for me, and leaves me the afternoon / evening to get other things done. It's going to be hard to match everyone's schedule globally. Fortunately, the stream becomes a video you can watch later.
I'm so glad they're still doing great :)
Thanks for this update video letting us know how it went in the long-term.
I was glad to hear a Pro say you have trouble pronouncing the word "anemone". I did too, until I figured out a way to say it right: - - - - A-NE-money $$$$$$
I seem to botch it regularly. lol Thanks!
Are you gonna upload the live stream to RUclips September 2nd
+Joshua Jurgens Yes
It's quite an achievement to keep a reef tank healthy for so long.
My reef is now over 5.5 years old. ruclips.net/video/r3Tn8rdXF64/видео.html
Where can you get one of those tubes? I wanna use a similar one to add sand to the bottom of a tank
Search for acrylic tube. Amazon, Craiglist, Ebay....
I love your updates! Keep em coming!! I also love that shirt. Where do I get one???
I got it when I purchased my tickets for next year's MACNA. Odds are you can still get one: macnaconference.org/2018/
So why does the Tshirt say "MACNA 2018 in Las Vegas ?" it may not be in Las Vegas?
Mike B The back says "You bet your wrasse!" Lol. September 2018 MACNA Vegas tickets are on sale now if you want to get the best pricing.
Awesome! I'll hopefully see you there. Las Vegas is an easy 1hr flight away so close enough I can swing a weekend getaway.
Hey Melev! I got a sebae anemone and two clowns. They both rubbed their faces on it but never hosted it or went to it after that. Any help?
+QuarterBach What type of clownfish?
melevsreef ocellaris clowns. I've had these clowns in my 20 gallon for 3 years and the anemone is just 3 weeks old. I can't catch the clowns without removing everything and I don't wanna do that
Were did you get the anemone from and what do you feed it
+James Lance I got it from a vendor at a frag swap. I never feed it directly.
Random question... are bristle worms bad for my aquarium?
+landry batis No, they are a normal part of the clean up critters that devour waste.
I am now confused whether it is anemone or anenome
Me too. ;)
That's pretty cool that the sabae has stopped splitting. They usually move all over the place
I'm glad it is staying put.
Hey Mark , you mentioned in the video that Skunks can shoal/harem with 1 anemone. Can nemos (oscellaris) also shoal/harem in 1 anemone ? I’m think of getting 5 tho , not 11 like ur crazy ass
Yes, if they are juveniles you can do the same with ocellaris. I added about 16 6-month old tank-raised clowns to my Anemone Cube two years ago.
melevsreef Thx , Interesting .... But like what happens afterward in 2-3 years ? I have a 250 gallon display tank , so removing the rocks to catch them is not an option ...
They bickered and I moved 4 out of the tank into my frag system. The rest are still going strong.
One great video leads to another.
Thanks. I haven't done a Part 3 yet, not sure what else there is to say other than all 11 are still happy in my reef right now. :)
Was going to ask, but that's awesome!
agar mein marine aquarium k andar normal freash water stone dal du to kya fault hoga water ka
How have they all been doing?
All 11 are still doing quite well. You can see them in many videos, including this one from last November: ruclips.net/video/r3Tn8rdXF64/видео.html
Have they stayed in the anemone to this date? Are there still 11?
Pretty much, yes. And all 11 are still present.
That is awesome!!! I got my first bubble tip today. Hoping she stays put lol
Good luck with that. :)
Hopefully you can zoom it to see the clown fish

How many gallons is your tank?
It's 400g.
Fantastic video!
Awesome.
Love the clowns and anemone.
Simply wow
Ur tank and videos are great keep it up
Nice video the reef is looking great :)
Love your videos.
Subscribed! Greats from Belgium
Brasil ! beautiful aquarium👏👏👏😍
How do you shorten the anemone
I don't understand your question.
melevsreef you said the anemone grew behind the coral and you brought it back down?
I had to re-locate the anemone from where it was to where I wanted it. Did you see this video: ruclips.net/video/J-u0swIRakw/видео.html
Wow I guess it has been a long time! After a few months the first one came out i was in the hobby! Lol great little vid to remember back to my freshman year of highschool! Lol
Super cool 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🙌🏼
Your a great help man!!!
1.6 million views now
Amazing. It's been the most popular video on my channel.
Yeah well done keeping updates to your progress...
This video i was actually hoping to see more zoomed in on them... Just saying...
Did you watch the section from above, that was a pretty good view.
A dream
it's a-ne-MO-ne not a-ne-NO-me
It depends how many times you say it in a row, apparently. 😂
Why no close up shots? You are a hendsome guy, but the video is about fish.
This was the follow up. I think there were a few close ups in this one, as well as some stills. But you can see those fish in the 6 year anniversary video nicely. ruclips.net/video/Is2sCNFPB_0/видео.html

Great update but i'm quite bothered by the way you say anemone =) just like Nemo.
AneMone
Oh yah they tried the tube

How come nobody can say "anemone"? 😊😊 great vid... hi Spock 🖖🏽
+yuyiboy It's so hard. Lol
Name one half Marlin jr and the other half Coral. Oh.. and one Nemo. Cos cliche is fun. 😜
show us a close up of those clown fish nxt time...🙂
Usually I do that with a camera, rather than video. But check out my other videos and you'll see them. ruclips.net/video/6xMkF3-xDVI/видео.html
melevsreef yep will do,✌...
I got a platinum clown for $10
what... seriously why is in Switzerland everything so expensive... can only dream of prices like that...
That's not a common price, swissreefer. Sam got a deal! Where do you live specifically? I'm a Heimweh Schweitzer. :)
Hi I love the vids I got my clown at Ri-Osras Reef Aquarium Conference they had snowflake clowns for $5
IMO nems have no place in a reef. Very much a hazard to corals and the powerheads!
Yeah, you have to plan better, and be willing to lose some corals if it wanders.
I feel sorry for my male clown...he gets his ass beat on a regular basis...not sure if that's normal...but they are fun to watch
+Rich Winkler By other fish?
melevsreef no by the female..he's lucky to eat..I try to feed them when their separated...she attacks him when it's feeding time..otherwise they for the most part get along
While she is in charge, it's odd that she'd terrorize him that much. Are these maroon clownfish? Or Clarkii?
melevsreef oscilarios clowns...
They will work it out, more than likely. You only have the two, right? He will submit and she will calm down.
he says anemone wrong literally every single time. Its anemone, not anenome
I disagree. Originally I thought you were commenting on a different video where I mispronounced it repeatedly, but in this video I made the mistake once. I’m human, I get to make the occasional mistake.

Still pronouncing anemone wrong. Lol
Just for you! lol
And only once this time. ;)
