So true and impressive. Do a second video with him coming home where wife has left since weeks, where old friends don't call you back since you have almost never time for meeting up with them... Thats the second issue. No social contacts, no power for dealing with stress at work. Thats when most people break down

I have a truck license and drove trucks on Saturdays as a second job. I never had to sleep in the cab, even tho my Scania was a sleeper cab, but I did get a taste of the trucker life...
Most people think being a truck driver it's a leisurely drive from A to B and then you sit and relax while they load and unload you.But the truth is so much different. It's one headache to another. If a dispatcher is not running an investigation on your ass, you are being harassed by police, toll police, or any other asshole that wants to delay truck drivers. Then there are the idiot slow drivers in cars that drive roughly your speed, but just a bit slower than your cruising speed... You can't overtake, cause you'll get fined, or make 1000 people angry for overtaking too slowly, so you gotta sit behind the slow idiot. And when you get to your destination, you are treated like filth. You are the lowest form of scum on the Earth. Even if you speak 4 languages, have a bachelors degree in economics and your day job is selling cars in a nice and cushy dealership...
But the warehouse workers and forklift drivers treat you like an idiot most of the times. Not to mention the shady characters you meet... Workers, other truck drivers, people at rest stops. I spent most of my breaks in the cab. Out on the road, my only friend was the truck itself. Naturally, you do meet some good people along the way and make new friends. You see lots of nature and you got the most comfortable seat any man can have. Seriously, I want an air ride seat in my living room, cause it's so comfortable.
So why did I take this job? Why did I do it? Why do I spend my Saturdays being bullied by assholes, while driving a truck, when I can throw a barbecue and invite friends like a normal human... Well, I love driving. I love the open road. In that big rig, I am the master of my own fate, I get time to think, plan, look back on things. I get a chance to clear my mind and I get paid for it. Pretty good trade if you ask me.
PS: I did swap to buses 4 months ago... Your cargo loads and unloads itself and that makes your job a whole lot easier. Four months in so far and I love it. Only downside is bus stereos suck...
Mad respect to you lad. Without you doing your job, we wouldn't have food on the table.
have you ever TRIED to explain to a transport manager that blown speakers and sparking door cables, or a totally dead sound system are a safety issue? or tried to justify the wearing of headphones to the client of the same operator?
If I ever own my own truck, it will work. It will all work. And if it doesn't, I'll be allowed to fix it.
Or you're supposed to sleep in this cab but it's covered in oil and grease, the night heater doesn't light and all the lightbulbs are blown and the fuses melted? Oh but you weren't supposed to sleep in it, they just gave you an 18 hour run on a 13 hour day.
Your summary is why the ones of us who stay, do.

I hate it when a car goes around me going up a mountain when I’m fully loaded going 40 mph and they’re going 60mph and then when it’s time to go down my truck wants to go 80mph and they still are going 60mph.

I have licence for LKW..... 2 years I will drive MAN with cistern in Berlin.... it was a good time. !

Also in France young drunk peple in samall town they threw beer bottles of my car.... ca 10 at evening

A co w tym dziwnego? To firma transportowa mają tam spedytorów od groma a angielski w transporcie to standard.
@@siklaudio1358 tak, to jest bardzo dziwne. Większość polskich tlumaczen oddaje slowo a nie sens. Jezeli język jest "nie ksiazkowy, poloficjalny", to juz w ogole jest tragedia. Do tego stopnia, ze ktos dla kogo pierwszym językiem jest angielski: czesto ma problem zrozumiec; o co chodzi? Ze tak powiem, cos jest przetłumaczone: "po polsku, po angielsku". Tu tego w koncu nie ma.
@@damcyk4 To prawda ale w dzisiejszych czasach tak wielu ludzi było gdzieś za granica i tam pracowało, że bez problemu potrafi oddać sens bo jak się mieszka przez kilka lat za granica to ssie łapie język, styl myślenia itd wiem po swoim przykładzie. A takich jak ja jest całe mnóstwo w Polsce.

customers these days don't care how the cargo will be deliverd. As long as it will be delivered on time. they don't know the struggle for truckerdrivers and office employees who make the last ends match for the customer. this is one of the most important jobs in the world and people just don't care about what logistics employees have to face with.

Maybe this was a little too harsh but in theory that is the reality of truck driving.
yeah in the UK they don't let us change our own wheels. So we have to sit cold and hungry for four hours waiting for some poor fucker who was pulled out of bed, to come and do it for us. I don't know if mobile mechanics or tyre fitters ever sleep.
and they didn't show the double decker run where you're not allowed to stop and eat. You eat at the hub. IF the canteen is open. If not.... you have a very memorable night
and they didn't show the situation where you're not allowed navigation devices, can't read a map while driving, there's a camera on you the whole time, and you can't stop to read map.
You just ...... magically get there on time and alive. ...and they HATE you when you're tired the next day. You can't be tired, you can't be wired, you can't.... Cope with this shit anymore.

For my introvert nature this job is just perfect. Minimal contact with others and no worries. I`ll be there when I`ll be there and not even my boss can hurry me anyhow.
Thieves? Fuck`em, wares are insured. Hookers? Fuck`em, the longer they bang to my door, the more money they loose idling. BAGs? Fuck`em too, my boss pays. If there is anything to pay for.
Oh, I have to tip it myself? No worries, exercise once or twice in a week won`t hurt.
And almost every evening I drink my beer alone, whitout any helpers.
Bro you know if your late and you missed your apointment most drivers dont get paid if they need to wait years to unload and then you are to late for the next client etc

No, but this job makes you stronger. Love it, 10 times better than a office job. Even with all the shit. Fuck them. No truckers, no stuff in the shops. People that dont drive dont understand.
Don't forget: trucker jobs will be gone by 2020, 2025 at the latest, thanks to robots.

im sure that it is one of the toughest.
the only time I could afford to eat properly while driving a truck, was when it was utility funded mountain heavy hardcore shit. That's when I ate. It was the place where if you don't eat before you go outside, you die. My friends were my car, my caravan, my co-workers.
When working closer to home, when I'm home I sleep, maybe eat. When working few enough days to have a home, I got a few things done, repaired my car to keep it ferrying me to the job and back.
Why do you think many truckers are on phonecalls a lot? The time between shifts is enough to
a) shower OR eat.
b) sleep.
How long have you spent trucking?
