I love the idea! I have to go through my yarn drawer and see what I've got. I can't justify getting any more yarn until I finish some projects, and this sounds like a great one. I liked the stitch before, but love the bi-color idea!

Now that I've watched it, I can see how the scales would create air pockets to trap the warmth. This would make a great scarf, cowl, or blanket.

That stitch looks amazing especially with that yarn. I can imagine blankets & scarfs with it. I do wounder how much yarn is used. Not so much what item is being made but the stitch itself. Obviously they're more then your ordinary single crochet stitch.
