We all know the Pony Express was a success. It cost a lot of money and lives to deliver the overland mail. When the stage routes took over, they too, suffered at the hands of the Natives. We trespassed and took what we wanted, doing what victors always do. Stealing, conquering, and destroying the spoils.
I am proud of the Pony Express riders. They had more courage than any of us can ever even know, because they had to. We no longer have to. Our fights and struggles are quite different from the ones our ancestors faced.
One of my first jobs back in the mid 80's was working for a courier company called Pony Express. If the original Pony Express had kept their horses taken care of the way my company did their vans, all the horses would have died halfway through their run, lol.

Were you watching this episode with a paper bag over your head? Tell me where you saw Pernell Roberts and Mitch Vogel? And the Cartwright's were not defending their ranch; this took place on Indian land (don't ever become a messenger).

He left half way through.... bummer cos he was my favourite...

This is how they wrote him out of the show.
He wanted too much money and felt that he grew to be a better actor than anybody on the show, so they wrote him out like Suzanne Somers on Three's Company.
Ben wants the Indians to allow people to cross their land. But Ben runs off anybody that sets foot on his property .. 🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇🏇
