I still think they should have had Adam killed off by some crazy cowboys and the boys went out for them. Little Joe, Hoss and a few friends finally caught up to the bandits and killed them all.. would have been one of the best shows of Bonanza. two part series .. We all knew Hoss was not going to die :)
The young wild band of the criminal band should have given themselves up right away, escaping is the same as affirming their culpability and carrying guns and ready to "defend themselves" by attacking and harassing other people and they entire town this warrants firm measures. The Sheriff was right!
