Why no one should ever give up on their dreams. God bless you for all you've done for the world Steven, to prove this to be true. You are a survivor, and you are all heart💖
*That motor cycle accident was no joke, I saw Stevie numerous times after and no amount of dope was helping the pain,he literally ripped the heel off his foot, was flat broke living in a small apartment and in the local Kenmore Square methadone clinic, I give him credit for being alive today and he was and still is a really good shit who takes time out for his fans...*
It's funny how she keeps saying "Do you wanna pack it in? Give up?" He is still rocking in 2017. Love ya Steven Tallerico !!! You are the best. Joe from Boston.
He was not happy in 82. Addiction, flat broke after a decade of wealth, angry but missing Joe - yet trying to act like the 82 version of Aerosmith was its peak. I hand it to him for working hard and coming back.
I love this interview. He's still so young, but he's honest about 'his' perception, and he still had the dream to keep on going. I don't believe he ever thought him and the band would fail, regardless of the members. He was very naive and vulnerable at the time of this interview, and I really enjoyed listening to it.
I think it's one of the best albums they ever did. Tyler's vocals on cry me a river is one of his best pieces of work ever. The songs on that album rocked were tight funky and sleazy. Still one of my favorite albums ever. I love Aerosmith and love Joe's project especially the first album and was always bummed some of those songs weren't in the Aerosmith catalog, but rock in a hard place was a great album no matter who played on it. Kramer's drum work, grooves and chops on that album are amazing and I always felt bad that he was at the top of his game and the band was being ignored at this point.
@@1irishanml You are 100% correct and I often write posts very similar to yours, RIAHP is an incredible album! I always got the feeling Joe is a little put off by how good it actually is. Props to Jimmy Crespo!
All of the songs on RIAHP are good, most I consider great. Different sound, yes but if you like good lively, Aerosmith flavored songs its a good album.
Thanks for the post! Very interesting, especially compared to how Tyler looked back to this period of time in the book "Walk this Way" 15 years later. The date of the interview was probably the 2nd week of August 1982. The album was released on August 1st.
Yeah, it being listed as January 1st of 1982 doesn't make much sense, as the album didn't come out until August of 1982 and Steven is talking about a tour already being booked to support the album.
If sir Steven did a solo album now he might want to consider working with Desmond child on some songs. What ever happened to Richard supa who wrote Chip away at the stone???
From the first time I felt those perforated Diamond gems on the cover of the Rocks album I just knew that my aimless 8 year old life was going to have a little more meaning to it!
18:05 too bad radio stations can’t play some obscure cuts anymore. Those days are long gone for radio. obscure cuts don’t even think about it anymore those days are history.
I don´t think so. Of course, he makes the band special but... without Joe and Brad, it just wasn´t the same. Even with Steven up there on the stage, something was missing. The fans noticed it, that´s why the band with Duffay and Crespo didn´t work at all
I hear ya. But I still say, Steven MAKES Aerosmith. He's the driving force and the front man. He's irreplaceable. The band would have crumbled without him. Losing Joe, Brad, Tom, or Joey would have been a great loss--but it wouldn't have killed Aerosmith. I believe losing Steven would have.
when I was 16 in the fall of 1975 my boyfriend wanted to take me to an aerosmith concert at cobo but my mom wouldn't let me go because she said they'd be doing drugs there
This is the time that Steven had been separated from joe since the dispute they had in the studio mixing Right in the nuts/Night in the Ruts.Brad had his Whitfield/St Holmes album done by this time. What parts of pock on a hard face did Rick dufay contribute most to?
Dufay didn't play at all in that album, Is Jimmy Crespo doin' all the guitar parts...then Dufay joined the band for the tour that lasted until early 1984
No. He said a few seconds after that that he was referring to the age of the band. Aerosmith was 22 at this time - they formed in 1970, and the interview was in 1982. Steven was born in 1948, so he was about 22 when Aerosmith formed, and 25 when their debut album released.

Dude, I just don’t think they have really good record in them anymore….I didn’t feel it with Music From Another Dimension either. I just listened to Just Push Play today and I must say although there is some filler….Jaded is definitely a hit with a capital H. I think that and then Bobo were the last real Aerosmith on record we’re gonna get. For me the worst thing would be for them to put out something overproduced and fake at this point. Know what I’m saying? By the way, I’m with you on Greta, those kids are kicking ass!
It was Lisa Robinson. She knew him and vice versa. She was hanging out with The Stones on the 72 tour as well as many others (e.g. Bowie, Zep) so she was no stranger to the rock scene or Aerosmith so it wasn't supposed to be one of those "nice" interviews where the interviewer kisses up to the artist. And let's be real, ST here was as much into his stuff as much as he accuses JP of being. History has shown that neither was in a very good place at the time.
You’re way off….this is really deep and a real conversation. It’s certainly not the kind of fluff piece that comes out nowadays…..When she asks him “Do you feel dated?””” Damn that is a REAL question and Steven answers it fully.
The interviewor is cold and callous and argumentative, and because of that, I'm not subscribing to this channel. Steven ✨️ proved her and her listeners wrong if they side with her. He's worth $150 million dollars in 2023 and probably more to escalate in years to come !!
He's hurt. He's defensive, and probably scared. Having said that, there's a difference between being full of oneself, and being confident. We're talking about Steven Tyler here, who clawed his way back from the bottom after being on top. He knew he was THE MAN. And he was right.
Hey he looks a little like Mick Jagger so he thinks he is & if someone says he can dance well tie another rag around the mike the Gap commercial Arrow Smith made is the worst "music" ever made in the Universe but Thanks for the insight.

Rock in a hard place was actually quite good. Had a jazzy feel to it. Much better than done with mirrors or any of the pop crap that came after that.
Jimmy Crespo. The Magic Man on the guitar.

Naive? Hardly. He was full of himself and extremely arrogant.
I think “Rock In A Hard Place” is an underrated album.
Not really

Very good interview. Steven is honest and open. I like that about him.

Would've loved to see interviewer's face when he comes out with his "songwriting/fucking" analogy at 11:23 lol
Really love that album Rock in a Hard Place
He wasn’t lying when he said they were going influence/spawn more groups.
I THINK ROCK IN A HARD PLACE IS A FUCKING MASTERPIECE GREAT OBSCURE ALBUM
No doubt….considering the state they were in , both”Night in The Ruts” and “…Hard Place” aren’t bad

This has to be 1983
Wait @7:18, he said he was 22? So he was about 13 when Aerosmith recorded the 1st self titled album?
Remember at that time, he was ripped on crack till 85’. Probably was off his head
jesus christ people, he was being facetious.
