I always remember to tell myself if everyone likes me than am I being authentic. I was a people pleaser and I had more "friends" before now I want genuine connections and friendships and life is better it filters out the relationships that would leave me feeling frustrated and now I don't worry about keeping people in my life and it's okay to disappoint and be content and at peace with myself.

“Don't Set Yourself On Fire To Keep Others Warm.” I love this quote. It's a reminder that being kind or selfless isn't always a good thing. In my mind, it's not the self-centered, inconsiderate people that need to hear this quote
Realizing I do have a choice gave me the key to myself what an amazing life I’ve lived. Pain on any level can be an escape or a teacher to self. Gratitude for who we are; we are all a miracle, and. think about that…..✨

Boy, the opening remarks. Have spent more time than I care to admit “not being myself”, due to the family background more than anything else, and once told a therapist years ago, “I feel like a non-entity …” In “healing”, integrating and more, have seen many latent aspects and thought, “My God, how do so get more of THAT - MORE OF ME!” Recently told the psychologist with whom I am working a couple of things: “I didn’t even really become a person …”, to which she completely agreed. Also, “It took me seventeen years to become regulated enough to work full-time (at anything I could find)”, to which she replied, “Well, it won’t take you seventeen more to become who you are.” I have been at this twenty years at the end of November.
Thank you for sharing your journey. It sounds like you’ve come a long way, and I admire your strength and persistence. Healing takes time, and it’s amazing to hear that you’re discovering more of yourself along the way. Keep going-you deserve to feel whole and at peace. Sending you lots of encouragement and positive thoughts! ❤
