I did the skate thing a few years back for a craft home tour. I painted one white skate in country red and it sold first.
I was like oh I no what she is talking about when it came to the door I watch all these videos on RUclips and tell myself one day it will be you. I love these, those skates make a nice arrangement. I have metal chicken feeder with compartments and filled in with milk bottle and change out the floral in the bottles for seasons. Love using the old Bo at age things for containers.❤🎄

I made 2 bottle brush forests this weekend. I had so much fun…everything was thrifted, or from the dollar store, and I already had it in my stash. One I built in a basket and the other was in a galvanized pan…both of which I thrifted from Goodwill while camping in Northern Michigan a couple of years ago. Also used the twinkle lights. Great statement pieces that I plan to keep out all winter.

I just adore the deer cuddled together in the chicken feeder! The mother-child tenderness is there as it would be in a creche, but with more universality.

Lovely projects! Next year look for a sled with red metal accents and use flocked greenery with pinecones behind the black skates to showcase them better. Pick up a large barrel curling iron if you don’t already have one and use it warm to lightly curl your ribbon tails. Just like how soft waves look fabulous on long hair, the soft wave curls on the ribbon will give your projects a finishing touch. Merry Christmas!

I think you should have gotten shoe laces that matched the ribbon for the skates. And the ribbon and the bells should have had a little sparkle on them. But cute idea.

I’ve always just used the laces to hang them
I thought i had commented already, but, couldn't find it. recently you had some boards that had a curve on one end. they were diff't szs. you stated that you didn't know for what they had been used. my father was born in 1907. he hunted & fished. he also trapped wild animals to sell the hides. to dry the hide, he made boards for each size hide and rounded the ends just like the boards you had. i see you use things that i wish i could get bc they are old or familiar with them from my youth. i am 72. you are a born talented lady. keep on keeping on!!!!
