Don't let the weird criticisms get you down. These videos are excellent. And anyway, with all the hard work you do, including tracking down the extras and giving them some recognition is impressive, and very kind of you. Secondly, voice over work is not as easy as a lot of people seem to think it is. I think you do a great job.

@@WatchitforDays Evidently! I think you’re awesome. Social media comes with trolls & criticisms, that’s just the price to pay. Whenever anyones posts what feels like an attack I realize my work is unimportant in the big scheme of things. So they must have some bigger problem eating at them that makes them lash out. Whenever some viewer comes to my defense so I don;t have to respond, it’s very satisfying.

Production-wise; this is by far the most fascinating episode.
It is clear that this must have been a logistical nightmare to produce.

Were the construction workers paid as extras? (There are so many extras in this episode!)

I have read that the "authorities" wanted to punish Peter Falk for his work-to-rule campaign in previous episodes. They promised him an episode to direct and this ended up being the only one left. He was finally allowed to direct and they made it as difficult as possible with this shooting site etc. But he managed to create a very entertaining episode in spite of it.

Yes; quite true; although Falk's action might be more accurately described as a work slowdown, than as a strict work-to-rule campaign; albeit, it may in fact be the case; as it seems, that it was; in greatest correctness, a combination of both.

The last cassette is, as you said, Songs I Like To Sing by Tennessee Ernie Ford.
He is definitely country but it isn't a country album. A variety of different types of music.
Another terrific video. It takes me while to watch your videos. So much fun information that brings me back to my younger days. Some I haven't thought of in years. I have to pause your video and look them up to reminisce. You mentioned Robin and the 7 Hoods movie. It's a musical/comedy about 1930's Chicago gangs. One of the running gags in the movie is that some people get murdered and have to have their body disposed of. The people killed end up in cement and as part of buildings.

I discovered your Columbo deep dive videos about a week ago, and they are now one of my favorite things on RUclips. I am watching them in order, and I just finished Blueprint For Murder. With the end of Season 1, I pause to congratulate you for your excellent work.
My mother and I watched Columbo when I was a kid in the 70s, and then I was Lt. Columbo for Halloween in 1988 and 1989, when the series was revived. Those were two of the only times I ever smoked anything. I also own the entire series on DVD.
Besides your easygoing and conversational narration, your meticulous attention to detail (did you ever identify the blue and white cassette in Forest Tucker's car with Stephen Stills and Grand Funk Railroad?) is incredibly refreshing. My similar "brand" is what I call "interrogating memory," but that is a story for a different time. :)
On to Season 2, and the late great John Cassavetes!
    Oh...just one more thing.
Your running commentary on the narcissistic egoism required of Columbo villains is spot on. And it may answer a question that had not occurred to me: how is that after so many high-profile cases, nobody knows who Lt. Columbo is? While the simplest answer is that he does a very good job of keeping his own name out of the press (easier in the early 70s than now, perhaps), it may be that all these killers know exactly who Lt. Columbo is, and their vanity leads them to believe *they* will be the one finally to fool him.
But they never do, because Lt. Columbo is a very individual person.

@@WatchitforDays I am glad my comment made your day - and that you resolved the cassette mystery.
I lived in DC in October 1988. A work colleague invited me to her Halloween party. I showed up in character, down to the raincoat, notepad and cigar. When she opened the door, she went right into character, pretending to be irritated by my presence. It was a nice bit of improv on her part, and I happily played along. The only other thing I recall is a bunch of us sitting on her floor smoking cigars. I never smoked otherwise, so it was an experience.
The coat and cigars are long gone, but I still have the notepad. I used stuff I wrote in it at the time when I researched my first book, which was inspired (unconsciously) by Lt. Columbo's meticulous attention to detail.
Anyway, on to Ray Milland's greenhouse! :)

Another great review. It is evident you put a lot of time and effort into these reviews. I like the references to other episodes and details on the other actors. When Columbo noticed the discrepancy in musical genres in the car, I realize this was an important clue in his reasoning. However, I am one of those people who like both country and classical music so this would not be unusual for me. The ending was clever. That scene when he had a flat tire with the body in the trunk was classic. Burying the body underneath a building (that had already been searched) was clever but Columbo was two steps ahead as usual. He looked like a deer in headlights.

Another awesome job. Love the Last Action Hero, and Loaded Weapon references. The scene where Colt consecutively steps on tobacco conveyances, has always been a fave... as I [honestly] proclaim that I wrote that, when I was in elementary school. It has my puerility all over it.
I don't know this definitively, but I have always interpreted the term "Jackson Boy" as meaning that Markham, and his work, are worth about twenty bucks. A low-grade Architect.

A loop of the take cycled in a projector and the talent was recorded as they watched over and over and attempted to match the lips. Now it's all computers with stops and starts. I never got to loop but I have done ADR. (something something [probably Automated] Dialogue Replacement.) Dubbing is when they take finished foreign work and replace it with English. I was about to add _Strangers on a Train_ to the list, when I saw that Bobby Duvet already mentioned it, so kudos to him. (I arrived late to the party, and that's what happens. 😏)
However, I can add a little, because I found a video featuring the opening of Hitchcock's film, and for the better part of the first two minutes he not only restricts the view of the two main characters to their feet, but also everyone else, as well. It's another example of the master's innovative approach, and one which all the later "feet first" directors probably consciously copied to a greater or lesser degree:
