@@isabellagega1605 omg I forgot that I commented this ahah! no unfortunately I didn't get in :( but I think it worked out for the best! I'm looking at other schools rn and I think they're a better fit anyway... are you applying to Brown?
Aww sorry about that, but i’m glad everything worked out! I’m currently a junior and i’m deciding between my EDs. Obviously been scavenging around, but i’ve yet to decide. Thanks for asking :)
Great video!! During my high school experiences, I did not take any APs nor honors due to my move, so I had to switch schools from state to state for another year because I'm a military child. At age 5, I left the small town of New York. That's where my home state is. I lived in 5 different states for 2-3 years, Virginia for 6-7 months, and Puerto Rico for a year. I grew up with my Spanish speaking family that are from Colombia and Puerto Rico. I grew up speaking English, and I learned Spanish as a second language at age 16. I took Spanish 1 for half of my sophomore year of high school, and I passed it with a 95% A. During the summer before going to my junior year of high school, I practiced with my basic sentences in Spanish to speak it with my relatives in my mom's side. During my first day of 11th grade, my ex-one on one assistant corrected me with my Spanish when I pronounced my grammars wrong. Then, I started to do better with my Spanish by watching videos, watching Spanish shows, watching series in Spanish, buiding sentences in the app, building sentences in the video, and building sentences in the Spanish grammar book at age 17 or 18 in my senior year of high school. I had a lowest score on my ACT, but I still made it to community college after I graduated from high school. I was a top 10% of my high school graduation class. You did a great job in your stats video by the way. I was diagnosed with autism at age 3. For right now, I'm 23 years old. It took me 4 years to finish my freshman year college credits at a community college because I had to take courses little by little due to my move and my struggle. I grew up with Individual Educational Plan (IEP) during my school years. I will attend to music and film industry at a TV school to learn about a job in this summer. After I complete my AA degree in general studies at a community college over here in Florida, I will be in a BA program for radio TV and journalism at university right close to my home. Once I apply for many universities before I graduate from a community college, I will chat about my high school and community college stats video sometime in this fall or in next spring semester. I have a younger brother that is also will be graduating from high school, and he is in his senior year. He will attend to the same community college as me in this fall semester. Again, you did a great job with your stats video because it really helps a lot. Good luck at university wherever you go. It's pleasure to meet you Hiilei!! God bless you and your family. 🙏🏻
I'm a sophomore and we have very similar academic plan! I would love to hear your tips to getting those grades cuz compared to mine. . .haha 😅 let's just say you have perfect grades to me
Thank you so much for sharing your essays and scores. It is very helpful to me and of course to others as well. Does Brown University accept the TOEFL test instead of the ACT and SAT?
Brown is test-optional for '25 and '26. But after that, it can't substitute TOEFL for SAT/ACT. TOEFL is a test for English language proficiency, not academic proficiency (like SAT/ACT).
@@aurora-cc6hk ofc I don't think she is faking it. I'm sure she is very skilled at kayaking, sailing, etc. However there is a disparity between student athletes and non student athletes at Brown. Hiii feeling so lucky to have found this video! I’m struggling to find the best way for me.✌️ Did you work with any kind of agency that helps you with essays etc?
Hi!! I mainly relied on my friends and teachers to help me with editing my essays! I recommend giving your essay to people who will give you real constructive criticism rather than people who will read it and tell you it was “good.” I asked so many of my close friends to read my essay and when I was close to my final product, I asked my AP English teacher to read it!!!

Hii! I'm from Brasil and Brown is my dream school. I just got my SAT score: a 1380, which I am also not happy with. I had seen your video a couple years ago and thought about coming to you for help. Do you recommend that I submit it or just apply to college with no tests? Congratulations and thank you so much for the advices
Thank you for the informative video! I've been binging UC acceptance videos because I'm planning on applying and this was very helpful :) Currently I'm a junior in high school and I've been trying to do as much community service and extracurriculars as possible. I've heard it's actually more important for colleges to see a few extracurriculars in one topic than having many extracurriculars without a focus. Would you recommend only sending in extracurriculars related to my major or everything that I've participated in? For context, I am part of 6 clubs (french, HOSA, french NHS, medical, amnesty, and key club), a medical program at a university, have shadowed at a clinic for a week, and have run a fundraiser for a non-profit at my school.
i have really strong academics, test scores, aps (etc.) and i’m in a few clubs at school and have a leadership position in marching band which i’ve done for all 3 years and plan on continuing next year (i’m currently a junior). however i don’t have any national awards and im not involved in any sports. do you think i have a shot/anybody you know at brown with a similar history? thx and congrats!!
@@shylah7119 i applied this year early decision and was deferred. honestly expected rejection so !! i’m hopeful for march but if i don’t get in i’m okay with it, i’ve been accepted to plenty of other great schools. best of luck with your application process :)
I worried about the same thing! I believe I had about 6 or 7 B+’s on my transcript, and the rest were A’s. All of my B+’s were usually in math or science classes.
