There’s actually some research that looked into it and it was found that consistent color schemes in notes actually do aid in comprehension and retention of the material. Not much published in the field of chemical education on that but it seems like the phenomenon is universal. So, I always suggest using colors and develop consistent color schemes for your notes (or borrow mine 😆).
