Some manuals suggest that for new spark plugs use rubber pipe instead of socket. That prevents from breaking the threads of cilider block. If you catch the thread the wrong way - the rubber pipe just slips off of the spark plug.
you could put the spark plug in, and sit it in the threads by turning it anticlockwise, that way it will sit in the thread so you can tighten it/ Clockwise.
The spark plugs need to be changed a lot more before they outright fail (i.e. electrodes corrode to a point that the spark gap becomes too wide for the coil to handle). Otherwise you're putting the coils to a great stress since they need to output a greater voltage once the spark gap widens. Nowadays spark plugs electrodes are made so that they corrode very very slowly. So your problem might possibly be a failed coil pack as well (fortunately, the coil pack is even easier to change than sparkplugs as you see in this video. The problem is that a new and OEM quality coilpack is fairly expensive, but if treaten good it can last life time).
Probably because the DTC stays in the ECU and needs to be cleared, then if it comes back something still wrong (for example bad coil pack), otherwise everything ok. If it switches from flashing to steady while driving it's probably because the misfiring cylinder/cylinders have been identified and fuel has been cut off to the misfiring cylinder/s (my manual for a Z12XE equipped vehicle states the engine can cut off fuel when it's not needed i.e. gear inserted and gas pedal fully released) since flashing MIL usually indicates serious misfire (raw fuel getting into exhaust so that it burns in the converter heating it up and giving off a very strong rotten eggs smell). Don't know what staying lit up after start would mean.
I have felt like you have missed out the most important part for the beginner... It would be useful to see how you actually remove the spark plugs, how difficult it is if they havent been changed yet, what tools are you using... I personally was looking forward to find out what size spark plugs spanner you have used.. According to euro car parts web my corsa has 19mm size spark plugs but I could not find the same size spanner for it.. So it was interesting to see whether you had the same issue.. Unfortunately I didnt see anything in relation to this..
Jonis Zidanas Hey, i may have not shown you the removal, but the refitting is the opposite of the removal, and that is shown. I also show the Socket that is used, not a spanner. at 2:00 mins.
Great to see a young lad on the tools, well done fella.
Charles Du Max thanks man
My coil pack is solid stuck. Any idea how to remove it?
at the end you still had a check engine light on. was that due to soark plugs
nice and easy to watch.
good for self service and save money.
Well, if you have a torque wrench and follow the torque indicated on the spark plug package to the letter i think it could be even better.
Hi thanks for sharing video..I just want to know that how can we fix the misfire in open Corsa, is it the problem with spark plugs..or?
Nischal Kumar mis fire could be plugs. Coil pack. Injector
Whats tools did you use cani have list

perhaps so, but this is why they are put in by hand first so they are located in the threads to prevent this.
OK, I think It would be good to mention it in Your clip.
Jacek U He did! at 2.05
He did not. He used metal socket instead of rubber pipe. He looks like a strong man, he could catch the threads the wrong way.

Thanks man.
Excellent video, thank you!!!
Johnny Blazzee thanks for watching
What size spark plug socket is it thanks
What spark plugs did you use?
thank you!
Does this work for 1.4 corsa too? Thank you
It works for every car that has spark plugs, simple.
can you please make a video about cleaning the throttle valve?
This video has allready been done, season 1, have a look for it.
My 1.2 corsa engine management light came up with 'cylinder 3 misfire', as in the spark plugs need changing. So he shouldn't have that light on

good video 25 Nm I believe
Why is the engine management light on when he starts the car up after changing the plugs? Not a good sign

@@bluudysgarage what size was the socket for the plugs please? Can’t see from the video. Thanks
@@JJGrey12 it's long time since I did this on this car. I believe it was the 14mm spark plug socket.
Electrode gap size?
0.9mm
Set to .8mm / 31 thou”

Engine lights on corsa 1.2 are always on lol
