Brilliant video, thank you Sir. I always check the gap and according to Opel/Vauxhall it is supposed to 0.9 mm. The torque should be 19-20 NM. Regards from Denmark.

Thanks CarSpy. I couldn't actually find the sparkplugs when I first looked under the bonnet! And only three cylinders too! That's pretty unusual.
Anyway with your easy to follow guide, I soon had the plugs out, cleaned and replaced and good to go.
    Thanks for posting.

Can also be done without a torque wrench. Many spark plug manufacturers put an angle of tightness on the box. For example, the Bosch spark plugs for my car need doing up snug by hand and then turning a further 90 degrees.

No worries, RDT. That torque wrench certainly comes in handy.

Ah yes! In my youth, I drove a Datsun Sunny Estate. If I didn't let the engine warm up, it waited until a dangerous time - for example, pulling onto a roundabout - then cut out.
I still miss that car, though. Enjoy your weekend too, Ian.

Well explained and demonstrated, as always.
Just one note, never assume any part fitted to an old car is the correct or most appropriate part (or is fully functioning as it should). This plug change is a lot easier than with certain VW engines where you may need a special coil puller and a special long thin-walled magnetic plug socket and perhaps special magic VW grease.

Interesting points, Nta16. Perhaps some car manufacturers deliberately make common maintenance tasks tricky. Changing bulbs, for example.
A driver is then more likely to visit the dealership, pay for such work, and meet a salesperson who has a ‘great offer’ on a new car.

@@CarSpyTV the German marques particularly seem to like to make things over-complex to look 'clever', never mention German engineering "quality" to me I literally suffer from the "brilliant' idea of wheel bolts (instead of studs).
